Can We Have Something Other Than Melee Challenges For LSS?

I remember being particularly infuriated by this last time we had a LSS-centric Event that basically had me spending the time with my fists out and using no other weapons due to the Challenges and I’m currently having a repeat. Looking through my Challenges I have:

Kill Enemy Spartans With a Melee Attack: 0/3
Kill Enemy Spartans With A Melee Attack From Behind: 0/1
Kill Enemy Spartans With a Melee Attack: 0/3
Kill Enemy Spartans With A Melee Attack From Behind: 0/3
Kill Enemy Spartans With A Melee Attack: 0/5

Practically half of the Event Challenges are Melee Attacks in some form and (as far as I’m aware) with Backslaps still not counting for regular melee just makes this so infuriating to play.

I actually like LSS. When I first played it I didn’t think I would like it, but I eventually warmed up to it. I was actually looking forward to using it to complete FFA Challenges instead of Rumble Pit since I hate Rumble Pit, but of course that was “fixed” where we have only Rumble Pit-centric Challenges instead of general FFA Challenges. Because of that, I’ve actually never played LSS until now.

I can see why now, if I’m going back into it and half of the Challenges for it are Melee-centric. Not even Disruptor or other LSS weapon-centric Challenges. Just half being Melee.

Made these suggestions back in May, so I guess I’ll go f myself then.

Unfortunately their purpose is to be mildly aggravating. To irritate enough of a portion of the player base just enough to use a challenge swap. To encourage a portion of that portion to spend credits on additional challenge swaps. To encourage a portion of that portion to spend money buying credits. Its hostile by intent. Games as sevice.

The worst kind of aggravating.

Just enough to have plausible deniablity and a legion of people willing to go in to bat in favour of them because ‘they’re not that bad’.

I also had mostly melee from behind challenges the first event. “Luckily” I only have two this time. It’s going to be even worse since they lowered the drop rate for Active Camo, which is how I managed most of them the first go 'round.

Melee challenges aren’t too bad. I find myself finishing opponents often with melee at the start of rounds and everyone has disruptors only.

But I could agree with them changing out back hand blows with melee though. Very little is needed to have it ruined ( being noticed by the enemy is a near garuntee you’ll never get it ) and on BTB maps it doesn’t seem like a good challenge when most area’s are out in the open.

I must be lucky though, out side of one melee challenge ( 3 total ), all of mine are playing LSS matches, headshotting spartans and getting kills in LSS and that’s it.

You got melee challanges I got nothing but headshot challenges lets trade.

Since I only needed to complete 5 challenges to unlock all 10 event items. Does completing any of the other event challenges do anything for me?

I would gladly take that trade. Headshot kills are infinitely easier to get in LSS.

For you maybe, I am mouse and key with bad reaction time, I can get melee kills with ease but can’t headshot to save my life.

Frankly you’ll get them just by playing.

The only one that gave me trouble was the back smack one, because the melee hitboxes in this game make no sense.

Would certainly love to have those.

Same. And even then there was always the chance of the hitbox for the melee getting all screwy and missing it.

The nature of LSS and its large settings just make them rather annoying. Breaker’s not bad as it provides more accessible, close-quarters areas that tend to see a regular flow of traffic of players that I can melee/backslap but a map like High Power…ooof.

I would gladly do so. In a heartbeat.

Frankly, its also a pain in the -Yoink!- :expressionless: Having a melee challenge just hanging there on your list isn’t bad and I do tend to just play the game and get them at some point while doing other Challenges normally, but when its five or six that are scattered throughout your Challenges and they’re all restricted to one game mode (LSS) then it just sucks and having a melee and backslap at the same time (as I did earlier) incentivizes you to try and work harder to clear them before moving on to other Challenges…only to get yet another pair of them later on in your progress.

I have certainly been cheated out of backslaps numerous times when playing this game.

Oh, you’re one of us PC players that tortures themselves. I tried MnK twice when the game released and noped out back to the sticks. I don’t know how XLR8 and you guys put up with it.

My aim is worse with a controller.

I completely agree. The challenge system is garbage and needs to go. Period. That being said, these sort of challenges are so baffling they defy all logic and reason.
