Please. 343i I don’t want to be rewarded for just “playing” the game. I don’t want Cr’s and exp to thrown at me EVEN IF I DO BAD AND LOSE. Stop rewarding players for just playing or killing grunts in soon to be Spartan ops. I want to be rewards for playing the objective and WINNING. A game involves winning at losing, somtimes I will win somtimes I lose, but when I do win a game I EXPECT TO BE A REWARD get it? I Spend money for a game not be a winner all the time by to have a challenge, that how you get better by being challenged at improving and getting rewards by doing so rather have HOARDS of meanless armor and cRs thrown no matter what. Doing so will at a replay value to the game.
Reach
Just because you can’t handle that people are better than you, and that you will get outplayed in competitve game from time to time doesn’t mean you have a right to REVOME rank altogether, It only shows where you stand with the community and it needed for a good competitive game. Not but killing grunts in firefight to get to top rank? If you want to play casual thats FINE. But you don’t to have a right to remove the entire ranking system like in reach.
My Take on 1-50
1-50 wasn’t perfect. We know this and it needs to be changed, What that does not mean is that a skill based ranking sytem is out the window, 343i fix the problems with 1-50 then put it into Halo 4 Simple. What we don’t want is another reach, a ranking system that completely destroys that point of having a rank in the first place. If you want to play casually it just do it. Stop giving cr/exp for doing nothing and start making Halo competitive again.
If you can’t Handle that please retire for halo. Competitive games are not for you. If you can’t handle losing, Stick to Mario Party Please.
While this may not be the best way to say it, the OP is exactly right. There absolutely needs to be a ranking system that rewards skill instead of time played, otherwise many players will drop the game, just like they dropped Reach.
I don’t know how you can argue that. I’m fine with the time-played system, but only if the game also includes a skill system.
There has to be a skill based ranking system in H4. (coming from a VERY casual player lol)
The player has to have a goal and be rewarded by excellence in achieving that goal.
NOT stupid useless UGLY armor and effects that provide INSTANT GRATIFICATION and NO long-term reward.
Remember the ‘perks’ for pre-order Reach? Flaming head for Legendary and some elite armor? WHO CARES NOW? right, NOBODY.
BUT, if you look at someone’s H3 record or whatever, and you see a 50 there, you either no they are good or that they are garbage and bought it, LOL, oh, I forgot or BOOSTED OR CHEATED to get it…(that’s why we need something new).
Look, I get it. You want this game to be competitive and rewarding for players who care. So do I, but you can’t just demean everyone else that doesn’t feel that way.
There is no reason to get rid of the cR, exp or spartan points after every game; what needs to be done is the addition of a skill-based ranking system. Notice I said addition; the two can coexist.
We can have ranked playlists that increase your skill-rank (1-50, whatever it may be) alongside a global progression system used to unlock all the new armor and other features in Halo 4.
If you want to promote winning, playing the objective, and overall caring in social lists, we can reflect that through credit (spartan points, exp, etc.) incentives for those actions, i.e. winning nets you more exp. This was a major problem in reach (lol objective).
Zoso is completely right. I for one don’t understand why so many people can’t see this. A global ‘rank’, which is much like the one used in Reach now, you rank up by playing anything and everything, multiplayer, spartan ops, or campaign. This rank would be your halo rank, how much you play. Then we can also have playlists with actual ranks, either 1-50 or however they choose, as long as its a different rank for each individual ranked playlist. You’ll still earn exp or SP or cR whenever you play a ranked match, both to your global rank and your playlist rank (if they do it similarly to H3, where you had playlist xp as well.)
