Can We have a Halo 5 for the Xbox 360 as well

I don’t know about most of you, But at launch I will not be able to get a Xbox One. sadly I don’t even see My self getting an Xbox One for quite awhile after that due to the Economy. But here is what i am Seeing with a lot of other Franchises. Buy the game for the current Consoles and pay $10 more to transfer the data and get the game for the Xbox one when you buy the new console. Why can’t this also be done for Halo 5? I mean I will not certainly pay $500 for an Xbox one just for Halo, that is not worth it to me, especially since Microsoft said that they will be supporting the 360 for up to 3 more years. I Get that this is a good marketing plan for Microsoft to get their loyal customers to the new consoles. But at the same time. People like me who are down on there luck and/or not made of money should be able to play the same games that are coming out as the next consoles games, especially when games like, Assassins Creed and Watchdogs and maybe even Destiny are able to transfer that content to the Xbox One. So I think we who will be on the Xbox 360 for the time to come should be able to play the games as well. And I love comments and other opinions on this subject because it interesting on other peoples point of views on the subject.

Well, Halo 5 won’t be out for another year yet, so you’ve got plenty of time to buy the Xbox One before release.

In terms of the 360, I don’t think it would be possible. Halo 4 was pushing the 360 to its limits, and I don’t think it could handle Halo 5. If Halo 5 has better graphics and more content than Halo 4 (and it should) then I doubt we’ll be seeing it on the 360.

It would also mean they would have to code the game to work on the 360 as well because (and correct me if I’m wrong) the two consoles run on different systems. Meaning it would have to be ported to the 360 which would likely take up a good amount of Dev time.

It would be nice if they did, but I’m not sure we’ll see it happen.

while many of your fellow users understand your plight, we only have to look back to halo 2 and 3 for the answer…

even though you can’t afford it right now, and even though you wouldn’t buy it just for halo 5 (which is an invalid argument, tbh, you’re not getting it just for halo 5, you’ll use it for far more than that, halo 5 is just the catalyst.) other people will. 343 isn’t the one deciding where the game goes and halo has proven itself to be a system seller. they want the one to fly off the shelves and halo is a great way to do that. -Yoink!- would be shooting themselves in both feet if they let you buy it on 360. while the numbers would look great in 343’s resume, the xbone would be another story.

I voted No.

I don’t want Halo 5 to be dumbed down and held back because it also needs to run on the 360.

They could make Halo 5 great for the X1 and a separate crappy version to run on the 360, but then your splitting the community and so on.

First of all, no, because like the others have said: Halo 4 was already pushing the 360’s technical abilities. Second of all: This is Microsoft we’re talking about. They could have put Spartan Assault on Windows 8 AND Xbox Live Arcade, but didn’t. I don’t think they will put H5 on 360.

I’d personally have to deny your request OP because of one reason. The Xbox One is brand new technology for the game and because of that they’re going to adapt Halo 5 to what this new technology can handle. They’re literally going to test it’s might for the engine.

Sadly this would mean you would have an incredibly limited and dumbed down port of Halo 5 for the Xbox 360 because unfortunately, it just can’t handle as much. :frowning:

I Agree with all of your comments to a point, and understand the concepts. But if you want to dumb down alot of the gameplay then why is ACIV: Black Flag Claiming to have the Best of the graphics and pushing it’s (the 360)Hardware to It’s Maximum Limit, then Still making an Apperance on the Xbox One? I mean you would think that they would stop making Games for the xbox 360 after AC3 came out, Granted the game was broken in some aspects of the game, but your running the same hardware as you would on the 360, and you guys are also forgetting the fact of The Transferable Data between Consoles. I mean you dont have to dumb down anything.

AC4 is multi-platform. Halo 5 is an exclusive for the One, so people will be inclined to get a One.

I don’t know about you, but I was Halo 5 to advance and prosper. I want new experiences, and all the new things that are only now possible with Xbox One. I don’t want a Halo 4 repeat that will be held back by the Xbox 360’s limitations.

There’re already five Halo games on the Xbox 360 for you to choose from.

And so ACIV isn’t going to be conpletely using the One. Or has two different ports, the One version is going to be improved graphically and in several other areas.

We don’t want the dev team and time to be split between making a Halo 5 taking full advantage of the Xbox One and one that is taking advantage of the 360… which is less than the One. You would have to be dumbing it down to push both consoles.

Games coming out right around console launch aside from ones that are explicitly launch titles just about have to be designed for the old generation because when development started they had no idea if the next gen would be out in time.

That means that they should easily be able to run off the current generation’s hardware. Combine that with the fact that the new generation will have a fraction of the number of consoles on the market initially and putting it out for the old generation significantly mitigates the risk factor.

A year after launch is a completely different scenario. Enough consoles will be sold at that point to financially support triple A titles without first party subsidies.

Halo 5 is going to be Xbox One only. Might as well put that fact on a stone tablet.

AC is coming out for both because its coming out around the time the console launches. Odds are its pushing the 360 to its limits and not doing much with the next gen tech.

The proper Halo equivalent of this is just putting out halo 4 for the Xbox One.

H5 is coming out almost a full year after Black Flag, its not really comparable.

And besides, where’s my copy of halo 3, ODST, Reach, and H4 for the original xbox?

Well it Is called “Halo Xbox One” for a reason, because its only going on the Xbox One. Also, Microsoft needs a reason for consumers to buy their console, and Halo Is one of them. Just buy the console when You get the money, honestly i font even make That Much for a living, but i Can still afford an Xbox One.

This is my solution to afford an Xbox One. Everyday after work I’ll put a dollar and any loose change accumulated into an old book bag. If you save up from now until Halo 5 releases you should have easily over $400. Maybe instead of eating fast food one day you bring your own lunch from home.

I’m saving up to buy the One when Titanfall is released. By putting away small bills and coins its gonna take less of a hit on my checking account.

Just my thoughts. Hope you are able to play Halo 5 when it releases. Should be awesome!

I’m not even sure I’m gonna buy the Xbox One. Probably not until at least when Halo 5 comes out, and then I’m probably going to wait a good 2-3 weeks to see what the issues are with H5 and whether it’s even worthy of a purchase. If it sucks or they go further afield from Halo being an arena shooter, I’ll buy the PS4 instead because it’s a better overall box and cheaper and it has Destiny anyway.

I’ve been very unsatisfied with the way 343 has tried to rape customers on the DLC/map pack stuff.

What to know how much time passed after the 360 was released before I got one? You’ll be fine and the answer to your question is no because we don’t want Halo 5 to be held back from what it could be if it was a next gen exclusive.

You cant rape the willing…

If you do not want it, you do not need to buy it.

Instead of thinking about what’s best for the game, you’re thinking about what’s best for you.
The game should not have to suffer for people who can’t get an xbox one at launch.

Oh and by the way, I’m one of the people who wont be able to get one at launch.

Good chance the new halo will come bundled with an xbox one anyway.

Nope, Microsoft wouldn’t sell half as many Xbox Ones if Halo was for 360 as well.
