Can we gift req packs using req points?

As title says. I can’ unlock anything anymore yet I have about 150k. Curious if I can gift them to people

No you can’t.

IT WOuld be nice but no may aswell use them ! Of your feeling generous just spawn good weapons in warzone then drop them for team mates

Well drat, hoped I could at least use them for something.
Thanks all

No, which sucks because I wish you could trade REQs as well

If they did, it could open the door to a lot of scams. People sell their REQ’s and don’t hand them over, and a whole lot of legal problems. They way they are doing seem to solve those problems.

People keep saying this, but I don’t understand how it could lead to legal problems

This is why we can’t gift REQ packs using points

> We know players who have amassed massive stockpiles of RP would love nothing more than to help spread that love amongst their friends but after reviews with the Xbox Live Enforcement Team, studying examples of similar systems in the wild and consulting a variety of experts, concerns over a multitude of potential scams and exploits led to the decision to limit this new feature to real-money transactions only. Further, Gold Pack Gifting is only available to players once they’ve reached Spartan Rank 5 or greater in Halo 5: Guardians.

Player A gets scammed by Player B.
Player A is upset and thinks that 343 is responsible.
Player A tries to sue 343.

Or at least I think that’s one possible scenario.

But there’s no way 343 could get in legal trouble in that situation. Player A trying to sue 343 because player B is a scammer is like trying to sue the mint because someone stole your cash. So again, exactly what legal trouble are we talking about here?

Lots of other games allow players to trade and send stuff to other players, and those developers never seem to worry about getting sued over it. Can you imagine if someone tried to sue Mojang because “waah I paid someone real money to give me their diamond pickaxe in Minecraft but they didn’t give it to me!” They would be laughed out of court. If people who play Pokemon games can trade their pokemon, then why can’t people who play Halo trade their reqs? I find it very hard to believe 343 was actually worried about getting sued over that.

So 343 said they’re concerned about “potential scams and exploits”, according to Stickrboy’s post. Based on this wording, it’s possible they were worried about legal trouble but I doubt it. Not to mention, since we can already gift packs with money, that already creates a certain potential for scamming (not as much if they were giftable with points, but it’s there). “Potential scams and exploits” sounds more to me like people with tons of req points gifting packs to their teammates so they can have an easier time dominating Warzone matches in parties of 12 or something like that.

Either way, I still think it’s silly to worry about that. The cynic in me even tends to think their ostensible concerns about “potential scams and exploits” is just cover for their real reason of not wanting to let people gift packs with points so they don’t lose microtransaction money.
