What’s the deal with Shotgun and pistol starts? Breakout, when it started seemed to be a high tactics game mode about knowing when to push and when to hold off but now it has become a fiesta of running and sliding while spamming the shotgun, I also preferred having to take the flag to the enemy base not just grabbing it and hauling -Yoink- back to base while avoiding a barrage of buck shots
Might just be me being a grumpy halo player but I really enjoyed the SMG and Pistol starts, the smg used to provide an excellent deterrent for advancing players with the old shield levels and the pistol was a great follow up for cleaning up Spartans that had split up now the game mode feels completely different
I’m not asking for it to be completely put back to the old ways but what if there were to be variant game modes that got selected at random to keep a happy medium
The maps have improved so that’s a plus!

Games often take forever for me to find matches as well, but think that is a server problem, do you struggle because not enough high level players queue or same as me?

I struggle because 343is search algorithm is terrible, I live outside the US and refuse to play on expanded, I am too high ranked in both MMR and CSR, the servers are sometimes bad and nobody likes the new breakout.

I also live outside the US which is the biggest struggle, are you EU? i am and the game seems to be almost dead

No I am in Australia. Thankfully we have a few servers here and one only a few cities away from where I live so my connection to the servers in fine. Its just that Halo is not as popular here as COD is I’m pretty sure whereas halo seems to be more popular in America than COD. Other than newzealand we are pretty isolated from the rest of the world so its either we get good connection matches or absolutely unbearably laggy ones. At least in the EU you guys have MANY countries to pick from and even if some are a fair distance apart the cables are still connected through land so there is less lag and no server bouncing. You may lag a tad but not as much as we do which is why expanded really isn’t an option for us. The only reason you guys will lag is if you connect to an American or Australian lobby (or somewhere far away because expanded searching can be very broad or because you guys dont have many servers near you. I’ve seen youtubers that live in the EU that can’t find games when there was region lock because that simply works on radius and not connection but find games on expanded with absolutely no lag. A luxury us Aussies dont have. At least we have good servers though so I guess both our continents have different advantages. I just struggle to believe that there aren’t 4 other people searching in a playlist.
