If the map packs were made free and required for all playlists that would be awesome. That was always one of my biggest problems back then and now that it is backwards compatible making the map packs free would vastly improve the quality of the game.

The game is half a decade old, it’s not the same situation as say Titanfall.
I doubt they’re making much revenue off of them now, and I’m sure the people who bought them would just want to be able to use them at this point.

Oh this will never happen. We are talking about Microsoft, you know that right? This is the company that makes 360 launch games 20-30 dollars these DLC packs will never be free
Yea I bought them all for 360…why wouldn’t I get them free for Xbox One since its just an emulator

But still, what if someone purchased them all recently, like a few weeks before they get released for free? That would make some people upset. And I really doubt that they’d give them away, though I would enjoy playing those maps.

You do get them free mate. All you have to do is redownload them.
Almost all the DLC have achievements tied to them. According to MS policy it gets a bit complicated to make those kinds of packs free.
Imo it shud work the same as how we get games with gold now.
Instead of games we get the DLC for a game instead
I bought Combat Evolved on 360 and it does not work on xbox one so I can not see them making the map packs work.

I played a bunch of Halo 2 on 360 and all the map packs were free to download at one point. Not sure why the same can’t happen here several years later.
Free? Never going to happen. On sale, probably. Would you buy at 75% off? I would.

The only thing more disappointing than paying money for a multiplayer map pack and having it be free for everyone later is paying money for a multiplayer map pack and never getting the chance to play any of those maps.
I love Halo: Reach and don’t regret giving any money for it and want to get the best experience possible, so make the maps free.
