I really hope that 343 puts in some playlists that require all the DLC such as a DLC btb, DLC objective, and DLC slayer. I have all the map packs but I rarely ever get matched in them and I would really like to match into them. The lack of these types of playlists also makes it hard for player trying to get achievements in a mappack that is no longer featured in its own playlist like Castle or Majestic. What do you think, should there be DLC playlists or not?

I am not saying change previous playlists into DLC required but add in playlists that are the same as them but require the DLC so that there is the option to play on every map that is compatible with that playlist, that way even those without the DLC could play BTB and those who did could choose to play BTB with the new maps or a BTB playlist without them

Yes please, add at least one all DLC required playlist, at least just change the champions bundle dlc into all of it is required, once the population dies down of course. It would make it easier to get some of the DLC achievements, and hopefully make some halo fans happy. I know they did this in Halo 3 so its possible!

It is possible in GOWJ, BF3… So it is possible in halo 4… Do 343 have smart people to create playlist??? That is question…

i agree. i bought all the DLC and have never played on any castle maps and few majestic games. who cares if the population is low, at least give me a chance to get the achievments for maps that payed for! i

No one should be surprised at all. 343 has botched every DLC they do. They have extremely poor management abilities and the paying customer gets the shaft as a result. DLC should have been required for specific playlists. It’s not my problem if players can’t afford or just don’t want to buy the DLC. I expect to play what I payed for. 343 should have handled this better.
I just sit back and laugh at 343’s abysmal intelligence now.

The DLC should be completely available at all times for the players who purchased it.
Now that Regicide is put in Rumble Pit and Legendary Slayer is going in IS 343i should merge BTIS and Skirmish to be Big Team Battle. Then we would have a bunch of room for two permanent DLC playlists:
Squad DLC- 5v5
Majestic Pack, Bullseye Pack, Harvest, Daybreak, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes. (Majestic Pack, Bullseye Pack, and Forge Island required)
BTB DLC- 8v8
Crimson Pack, Castle Pack, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes. (Crimson Pack, Castle Pack, and Forge Island required)
I haven’t had access to my Xbox at any of the Crimson, Majestic or Castle releases so despite buying the limited edition and having the War Games pass I could count the number of games I’ve played on DLC maps on one hand. Of course I shouldn’t have bought the limited edition in the first place, but the upshot is that not buying the Champions DLC was a no-brainer.
If some of the playlists were DLC required I’d buy it in a heartbeat and buying the limited edition would have been well worth it and everyone else seems to have had a similar experience.
If I had my way I’d make Infinity Slayer DLC required immediately. There are plenty of Infinity and 4v4 variants and I doubt many people would be heartbroken. That said it’s not a niche playlist so I wouldn’t describe it as a token effort by 343.
There needs to be an all DLC playlist. Serioulsy, how else will people get achievements without purposely finding other people with the same/all dlc and going into that the playlist with the maps and getting the achievement.
Seriously, its dlc achievements are a problem in Halo 3 and Halo Reach, it doesn’t take a rockect scientist to put together some maps and gametyps for an all DLC playlist. (Also it would be nice to have matchmaking preferences so players can prioritize those with the DLC, the more options the better).
The problem with a single “All-DLC” playlist is that each DLC pack was made to accommodate different gameplay. Crimson was built with objectives in mind. Majestic was built to suit the competitive side of Halo 4. Castle was made to support the carnage of lots of people on an open space.
The Champion’s Bundle (a.k.a. Bullseye) is also an objective-based map pack.

Vertigo is an interactive map that is fairly large, about the standard size of the Crimson Map Pack maps. I assume it was built to support gametype configurations such as KOTH, Oddball, and CTF.

Pitfall was created with the past in mind. The Pit was iconic in many variations of gameplay in Halo 3, including Slayer and CTF. With its release into Halo 4, this doesn’t change. It still serves the multitude of purposes it did back in Halo 3, and more (Ricochet, for example).

And like VAUZIX said, some of the DLC maps were amazing!
While Crimson was rather lacking, all other DLC maps were truly incredible!
I was wondering from the beginning why wasn’t there a 6 vs 6 DLC playlist including all the maps.
