I am tired of reading complaints and comments bashing 343 for adapting Halo to new generations of players. I think this new team of people are quite committed to making Halo just as great as it has been each game thus far. I loved all the old halo games, (Reach was my favorite story by a long shot) but isn’t it time to close the door on that old place, and move into the big, bright, new, 60fps, sunlight of the new world. I think 343 deserves a digital high five. Halo4 is great, MCC is great (now that it works better :P), The guardians beta was great, and I’m sure that Halo5 will be great as well.To all the people involved in driving the Halo bandwagon forward unto dawn, -Thanks.
First thing. Halo Reach is not OLD Halo, not even close. Second, your post is completely subjective. I don’t think 343 deserves a high five for anything as of late because I’ve found everything to be mediocre at best.

I don’t think he was trying to be objective pal. For starters, most things on this end of the forum are completely subjective and your comment on how “I’ve found everything to be mediocre at best” fairs no better on the Subjective-Objective scale. Not trying to be an -Yoink- or anything, but if you don’t like the game, go to the other questionable amount of other threads pertaining to what you’ve commented. Leave these corners of positive eden to the ones who just enjoy what they have and don’t come here to rant. Thanks pal.

I like H5. But MCC is so good it drove me to get a refund 3 months after release. I hope I don’t see Bonnie, Frank or Kiki on-stage at E3 because they will get booed.

and let 343 get away with that god-awful mistake called the MCC? No I’ll keep calling them out on it. Also why should I give them a virtual high five for screwing that up and making Halo 4, a game that wasn’t even technically 100% done until they finished adding everything several months later and caused a massive rift in the community.
What exactly was noteworthy there? He can say they deserve digital high fives, I’m just saying 343 isn’t getting any digital high fives from me. They will know my grievances as well as others. That’s what these forums are for, not for sparkles and rainbows like you and OP seem to think…pal.

The forums exist to provide Halo fans with a pleasant and welcoming place to discuss the franchise, and to provide constructive feedback. I’d appreciate it if you’d put more effort into being welcoming.
OP’s just trying to support the developers. Given their use of the word “bashing,” I think they’re only really mad at the people who can’t be civil when writing their criticisms. With that in mind, can we try to be nice – at least in this thread, if not in general? I’ve been dealing with a lot people on both sides of the line who have been behaving badly, and it’d be encouraging if there were at least one place where people aren’t getting into Internet fistfights. :\

hey I’m not saying he can’t do it am I? I’m just saying how I feel. I’m glad OP can enjoy the game and support them, but unfortunately are my feels are more bitter than sweet

I get that. OP’s reason to be happy is your reason to be unhappy, and that’s the situation a lot of people here find themselves in. Right now, all I ask is that people try not to take it out on each other.

High five 343! You gave me Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary, and as your first solo adventure you gave us Halo 4–a worthy follow on to the story of the Master Chief. You also gave me the Forerunner Saga by Greg Bear, the Kilo Five Trilogy by Karen Traviss, and a bunch of other good and fun media like Forward Unto Dawn.
I may spend a lot of time critcizing your decisions on these forums, but that’s only because I still think Halo’s worth it. You’ve put your heart and soul into this series, and for that, you have my thanks.

343i and Microsoft Studios will get no high fives from me. From outright attempting to justify the shoehorning-in of incompatible mechanics by ignoring years of complaints and constructive criticism (over 5 years of them to be exact) and the ignorance of their playerbase by restricting the feedback program to US/EU users only, they have a long way to go before I even bother to consider them half-competent.
343i/MS Studios are very pick-and-choose when it comes to respecting their community, and thus far the only ones that feel like they aren’t treated like crap is due to them being ignorant of the hundreds of issues that affect many gamers. So yeah, go ahead and high-five 343i and show how ignorant you are. Anything to be a shill, right?

If so, then why did they scrap their first version of Halo 4 that hat traditional Halo gameplay after test-audiences liked it and gave positive feedback?
Don’t get me wrong: I don’t honestly think that anyone at 343I gets up in the morning and his/her first thought is “What can I do today to disappoint the fans?”… but I don’t think that George Lucas had this thought either, and we all know how the prequel trilogy ended up.
In my opinion, both of them were/are just misguided in their creative process, and when they were called out for it, they became pigheaded and continuied on their path just to prove a point. The best thing that can be done right now is to continue pointing out weaknesses and strengths as well, and hope something good comes out of it.
As far as the “high five” goes: I will give them a high five for a job well done. Just, so far, I haven’t seen any. (I don’t consider work done by other people, like the Anniversary games and the books, as something 343 should get credit for.)
