I’ve gotten a 15 minute ban because I got disconnected from a game out of nowhere, along with everyone else of that match. Some of us got matched into the same next match and mentioned it as a random DC, and expressed great annoyance in having to sit through a ban for something entirely out of our control.
And right now I’m sitting in another 15 min because my computer decided to have problems today and freeze randomly and make me restart.
What’s annoying is the first one was three hours ago, second one now still decided I’ve ‘quit’ too much today and get to wait 15 mins.
(Also wiped objective challenge progress I made in the game I froze up in, so that’s an extra flick in the -Yoink!-.)
It’s pretty ridiculous that it applies bans for stuff like that, yet allows AFKers to coast game to game with minimal button inputs.

My ban times never get past the initial 5 minutes. My problem is those 5 minutes discourage the player to stay at all.

Yes but no ban should EVER stack up to over 30 minutes let alone 10, yet 343 have implemented up to 16 hour bans?! That is some next level BS and EVERYONE knows it.

From my point of view the quit bans helped. There are less quitting and people who quit alot, usually go to other games because they don’t want to wait out the ban which is OK for me because no one wants them here anyway.
I agree with the fact that matchmaking is terrible and most of the time really unbalanced but thats 343’s fault and responsibility for creating this mess of a system and making Halo for more casual peoples; can’t do much there I guess.
If I get a game where my team cant even seem to compete at all, Im gonna quit. Ia not EVER going to sit in a match where everyone on my team goes 3-14.
That’s what you get for playing with randoms, who constantly AFK or already quit out. Random people are trash these days. Seems like you guys are not able to make friends and socialize with others; why not inviting some like minded people and make yourself a group? It improves the experience by a lot and is more fun to play then having these random bots every time. Problem solved for most of the time.

People should not need other players partied up to even have a prayer because of sbmm. In ranked sure, but never should have that be a requirement in social.

It’s not a requirement not even in ranked but it helps a lot. If you are not willing to Team up with friends, which is always more fun anyway, then playing solo then it’s your problem for not adapting to the situation and making your life harder then it needs to be.
Honestly, I actually don’t even care if the bans are going to be removed or not because most of the time I have my group I am playing with, so I don’t have a problem with this. If you think it is the right way to remove the bans, fine, then convince 343 to do something - no one is stopping you. Good luck with that though.
Then I will do what everyone else will does when I play solo - quitting so hard left and right whenever a game does not go my way or I don’t have “fun” until people start complaining again that the bans are needed back.
I honestly don’t care if they get removed, unlike you I am able to adapt to situations.

The people who want to quit will quit anyways. The only ones it hurts now are the people who want to play but either who:
- encounter a bug (crash, game doesn’t load them in) and therefore get an undeserved ban
- are left in a match with less players, because now they are either forced to complete a unwinnable match or get a ban.
- are in a match with someone who deliberately use the quitban to grief (either by AFK’ing or shooting shields down for the enemy to kill easier, etc.) and now can’t quit or else they will get a ban.
When they severely strengthened the bantime, i haven’t seen a decrease in quitters, but i have seen an increase in AFK players and griefers.
I have even seen players starting to grief after someone quit. Not because they wanted to grief, but they wanted someone else to quit (or get kicked) first, to make it 2v4, so they can then quit banfree. Think about deliberately jumping in front of teammates who fire (especially with powerweapons), or jumping in front of teammates who are driving a vehicle, or jumping on friendly nades, so that that teammate get kicked for betraying.
Meanwhile the quitters will just log into an alt account and keep playing, so the quitban won’t even hurt them.
That doesn’t mean that removing the quitban will solve everything. I think MCC should have a JIP just like Infinite to combat quitters and make teams equal again. Perhaps even reward JIP-players with double XP from that match (since they had less time in that match and therefore could get less XP otherwise).

On the bright side, with the quit ban system quitters are being less common since these types of players aren’t willing to wait 15/30 minutes for quitting a lot in a single day.
Moreover, AFKers are still an issue and it would be funny if I see players complaining if 343 decides to implement a ban system for AFkers as well.
Once again, never rely on randoms, they’re probably trolls or afkers. Keep in mind this will occur to any of us who wants to play solo on matchmaking.

I shouldnt have to find team mates to get enjoyment out of a game.
If the matchmaking systems in mcc cant find me a fair and fun match, i will quit.
And punishing a player directly with a 5 minute ban is laughable.
A ban should appear when i quit 10 or so matches in a row not after one match.
I dont know anyone who asked for that garbage.

If you don’t want to socialize, then try FFA games (Infection, Slayer, Snipers, Action Sack, etc.).
In addition to my previous comment, I think quitting on purpose should be counted as loss.

This makes sense now, you have excessive quits. I don’t care if they remove the quitting ban system but at least they should be penalized by deducting XP and counting the game as a loss (as other players commented in this post).
They shouldn’t, because that will only be abused by griefers that try to get you kicked by deliberately jumping in front of you when you fire or drive.
And ofcourse it will punish people who get bugged out of a match by the game, that still happens to often. (and weirdly enough if the game doesn’t load you into a 1v1 match or a Firefight match, you still get a quitban, even though you can quit banfree out of those matches…)
Agreed, but then ofcourse without granting the XP you get for a lost game.
For ranked you basicly already get a loss for quitting in relation to your rank. That is how it should be.
In my experience (at least untill Infinite came out) the quitters were just as frequent. And they don’t have to wait for 15-30 minutes, because they can just jump on an alt account and ‘play’ further on that. That is why quitbans don’t work, since you can easily get around them with alt accounts. Those frequent quitters don’t care about their account, so they won’t have any troubles with moving on to an alt. That’s why it won’t hurt mass quitters and only hurt legitimate players who got griefed or bugged out.

I hate how if you get banned you also get banned from custom browser

FFA is dead on most games for me. That is also a terrible “fix”. Should just put on the store page: “Needs friends to be able to enjoy anything other then FFA”

This is how it is, don’t blame me. If you don’t wanna get matched with afkers/trolls/quitters, just don’t do it alone and find friends in the LFG section, which it isn’t that hard. If you don’t wanna do that either, you can play a FFA game, 1v1, or even firefight which it isn’t that bad. Also, can have a look at the CGB (as other players mentioned here), and for this case in particular you won’t get banned if you quit. You don’t want CGB, then you have the option to search for custom games in the LFG section as well.
There are different ways to enjoy the game if we adapt to the circumstances. But with a negative attitude you will not achieve anything.
From my personal experience, I have met great players in custom games and LFG. Also, If anyone is interested I’ll test their skills (teamwork, sportmanship, empathy, communication, etc.) in matchmade games and see what they are capable of.
Been addressing this since the ban system was introduced. As long as there’s a major problem with disconnects where people cant even load in to the game and gets disconnected this ban system will be a failure. People will be login back in to the game to get a notification saying they’re banned lmao. That’s a big reason why so many people left MCC. I just don’t understand in the first place why people need a 30 min ban for quitting 2 games or so in social. People who have played MCC do know that the games are full of glitches and network issues where the game already starts with 3vs3.
So anyways, this topic needs all the attention because this needs change!
