I don’t like the outlines. I think they look kinda silly, I don’t like how they force enemies and teammates to really standout from the environment, and I also prefer to shoot those filthy Blues.
I think giving the players a choice between the outline system or customizable team colors would be ideal and players like myself would enjoy the game a bit more with this option.
They’re probably not going to bring back RvB as a choice any time soon unfortunately, they seem to have doubled down on it over these past flights, and it’s now a monetary issue rather than just a community one. I do agree that it would be preferential though. As you said, outlines cause players to standout from the environment, but they simultaneously don’t do enough to distinguish teammates and enemies, causing a lot of people to frequently second guess whose side a player is on when they first appear on screen. They also make it harder to see shield damage, which was previously a pretty important indicator of an enemy’s remaining health.

No.
As much as I don’t see it changing I would also prefer a return to the red and blue of the past. Now that I’ve played the game a lot more I find the enemy outlines distracting and immersion breaking for me.
I just want rvb back. I wouldn’t mind a faint outline to make the characters pop out from the environment, but having the color difference for the teams is a big trait that makes it easy to distinguish who is who. A lot of the time I don’t even know if I’m winning or not cause i can’t even tell what team I’m on. In FFA it wouldn’t matter but any of the team gamemodes, they need rvb back.
The outline system is awful… Nuff said…
I can’t see them changing it. They’re pushing the personalisation and own character thing to sell stuff from the store, if we go red and blue again it would be less of a point to get new colour schemes to show off because you’d either be red or blue in matches.

True but if someone really wanted to show off colors just play FFA or something. Plus, I think people generally like to show off armor more than color schemes.

Yeah I mentioned this in an earlier post. There is no way this isn’t a low IQ money making scheme that will just add to the alienation of fans. I even brought up the fact that FFA has always been free of forced teams and promoted such individual customization. Let’s face it folks, with each new Halo there is less Halo.

They can still show of the personalization and have Team Colors during the gameplay. Whenever the Teams are lined up and they’re showing the characters they can show off how the players colored them, and then they can have a cool sci fi animation that shows the armor changing to the team color
Dress sim. So no.
I agree, the artsyle and enviornmental design for this game are squandered on the hologram type outline system, and it makes you stand out too much. I feel the outline system should be limited to within radar range, and that a longer range would be granted through use of a power pickup.
Thought of a great gametype with monthly rewards. How about for infinite theres a gametype Red VS Blue. You pledge your allegiance to that colour and fight for that colour all month. 343 will put out stats at the end of each month with most kills, wins, flags captured etc. The team with the overall positive points wins the rewards like coatings, armours, emblems, weapon skins etc. It’ll be fun and i can see people being for it. Wear your team colours with pride and fight to be the best
Disagree.
I really like the outline system. Being able to see your hits register and instantly seeing if a player is weak by seeing how bright their outline is nice.
And isn’t the scoreboard Red v Blue hehe
100% agree. It shouldn’t be an option though only because the glowing is advantageous. It would be unfair to those who find the glow undesirable. They’re doing it only because microtransactions earn cosmetics and they want the cosmetics to always be visible. I do hope they go back to RvB.
Money rules the gaming world. I think we can forget about Red VS Blue.
