The game looks great in some lighting conditions but distant hexagons and the distant islands and ring parts need work, like fog, thick clouds, blue haze etc

Who remembers the the distant thunder storm on Remnant, that was an awesome skybox/background
Grunts, Elites, Jackals look amazing, brutes mostly but need more variety and detail in Brute Faces, even the Brute boss face detail was lacking.
And the bosses were too much bullet sponges that need more of unique attributes.
The Hunters felt better than some bosses to fight cause they have shields and weak points, so the fights felt skillful and dynamic, the Melee Brutes weree great, level sections indoors felt much better than some open outdoors sections, just because the Hexagons and excessive bland rocks hurt the experience.
I was hoping for more vehicle combat early on, more warthogs easily findable, and having lots of winding canyons connecting bigger regions with large doors and tunnels between regions would help, with findable maps to unveil the “fog of war” for the overworld map would make it more mysterious.
We need “dungeons” or subterranean tunnels where we find Cartographers that unveil hidden locations and parts of the larger map that branch off
Having multiple large clusters of islands connected by areas with platforming and Variety of Forerunner wall architecture underneath and augmenting the Hexagons would make it feel better.
Like huge waterfalls hiding Passageways like the Caves from CE, maybe a Giant Lake with Platforms like Halo 2, more “Distinctness” of A dozen or so regions that don’t feel too “samey” or just remixes of other regions.
The Spires are cool, butttt need to each have a region that feels more distinct in some way that makes them have an “Identity” such as ok: ISLAND A has 3 Spires, a big Lake with a Floating Banished superfortress, and has a huge canyon
It needs to make the player feel like Each Region is more distinct just like how Chapters in the original Trilogy we’re made distinct by it’s Biome, instead of Each region sharing so many features of Big rocks, Hexagons, grass etc.
It’s like 70% on it’s way to being great but the level design needs refinement in terms of how it directs the player to feel like sections have more purpose and distinction from one another.
The Concept art, even the ones with Hexagons and grass and trees makes sections feel more distinct, and the color grading of the Concept art has deeper Hues, deeper Green grass, more contrast, whereas the landscape esp in some lighting conditions feels like it all kinda blends together and seems confusing.
Night-time easier to play because the lighting isn’t as harsh and the sky looks nicer, and the landscape doesn’t look so “busy”.
They need more foliage on the upper rocks and alcoves with plant matter, taller grass and grass variety, if possible wavy grass that moves with the wind, and improvement on how Hexagons look from far and very far away.
The rocks from far away seem more like giant rocks than mountains and the color contrast on rocks from far away makes it seem like looking at Rocks in a quarry lacking color differences so they all kinda look a muddy gray than having differences in Hue and color variety that make them “pop”.
And the destroyed sections of the Ring far away need more detail, and should just look like Vertical Hexagons, esp since the destroyed sections seeing the Ring from Space look good.
The Islands all shouldn’t be on the same “level” and should have Islands some way above another with Platforming connecting an upper island to a lower with waterfalls coming from a big river on an upper level one to a lower section, the Islands gotta be staggered more instead of feeling all on the same general “Plane” relative to one another
Maybe a High Rez Texture pack would help to fix distant details, as the vertical Hexagons for the walls in the distant island sections makes it kinda feel like Minecraft.
They gotta integrate more Architectural elements from Halo Wars 2 in terms of the edges of destroyed sections of the ring having variety and not just Hexagons, esp cause the middle or bottom of the Islands are gonna have tubes and horizontal structures that aren’t just Hexagons all the way from top to bottom.
The developers can’t even align the cosmetics properly on the spartan model. We would need a miracle for these things.
