I’ve got a surprising amount of friends who missed out on the Orion and Mirage sets, even though I have them I would love for them to rotate back in ever so often.
I thought the exchange would rotate everything so I could eventually get the stuff I don’t have.
They just need to lay it out differently. I would prefer to have all items available so I don’t have to wait and or miss out on cosmetics ![]()
Cosmetics effect the gameplay experience.
The ODST back pack in halo 4 makes it harder to get shot in the back of the head in swat.
Also swat related, some elite helmets are harder to hit as well.
Flaming helmet makes you an easy target or a distraction. If you want a challenge turn on the flaming helmet.
So therefore I disagree ![]()
People enjoy puppies, I’m a huge fan of tigers. Both of those will not improve my ability when playing Halo.
But being super annoying & repetitive won’t help either…
Try going outside, throw a baseball, identify the local foliage, omg find the biggest food in your region.
The exchange is really oddly managed. I’d rather there be a whole page of outside-season stuff to choose from than a small number of stuff that’s rotated weekly. It’s entire purpose is just to get players to start the game up once or twice a week at minimum to see what’s in there. It leverages FOMO and tries to get players to form a habit, just like how the challenges reset weekly.
The Halo CE Macworld “Orion” armor for Halo 2A MP was really cool. You could only get it in the exchange for two specific weeks. That’s dumb as heck for armor as cool as this. It’s not even expensive! It was just only available during that time! I hate most of Halo 2A’s multiplayer armor so this thing is forever what I’ll use for that game.
Rarity this way doesn’t even make sense. It’s like some sort of backwards marketing logic. These aren’t the kinds of things that people are going to take pride in having a sense of exclusivity for! It just means that other players can’t get it because they weren’t there to spend 2 or 5 season points during one week.
I say that if 343i doesn’t have a Season 9 planned then they should dump the exchange stuff in there at the end. The exchange will probably keep rotating until 343i ends support for MCC.

I’m just telling you from my own experience. Whenever I have flaming helmet on I tend to get targeted more. Matches feel harder.
Whenever I’m playing as an elite in swat I tend to get hit in the back more than the head from behind.
One time I even went to theater and saw that halo 4 ODST backpack helped in swat as well.
You don’t have to take my word for it, just try the cosmetics out and see if I’m right.
Also the EVA “gold fish bowl” helmet is a easy head shot target
well if you have a flashy visor with it on
Seriously, the EVA helmet in 3 was always like intentionally putting one of those Boss enemy weak spots on your head.
I actually remember part of the reason people adored recon and hyabusa outside of prestige was because it made the visor less visible
I apologize, I had a few space sodas.
My point was I get that you’re not a fan of customization, which is totally cool. Plus as other Spartans pointed out, certain armor might make u a bigger target. I suppose I wanted to get more of your Halo perspective beyond customization.
It definitely sucks. I managed to achieve 500 season points, and I have absolutely nothing to spend them on. I’ve already unlocked all season rewards, and exchange rewards. Even worse, I actually managed to reach Rank 20 in H3 Slayer, and I don’t get any Avalanche Sniper skin. I think we’ve reached a point where enough time has passed where people who previously complained won’t care anymore.
Considering Halo 3 has 12 weapons that don’t have any skins (14 if we include objective items), I’m honestly surprised that they didn’t make a backlog of skins for these items to cycle on a weekly basis to keep populations steady and spend those 500 points. I love my mauler and am sad it didn’t get its Halo Online gold skin. Then there are the other games with no skins at all. I’m not going to assume it’s easy to make weapon skins, but I feel it’s safe to assume they’re easier to develop than full armor pieces, even if they’re reused from Halo Online.
Yeah same with rouge and maybe even scout!
Actually, I remember the devs saying skins were surprisingly easy. So yeah 100% agree with you. Like I understand they’re taking their time and doing bigger, better, less frequent updates - but the frequency in which new cosmetics are implemented should definitely increase.
I think with the monthly tactical exercises reset coming up would be a good time to add some exchange stuff that hasnt been their yet like the H3 Avalanche sniper skin.
To add to this, Season 5 had all the unreleased H:O armor in the Halo 3 game files next to the Season 6 armor ready to use, there really is no excuse for them to have added nothing cosmetic-wise.
Its made even worse since they also showed off two of the unreleased sets, Operator and Spectrum, in the Season 5 trailer.
Once monthly.
The exchange should have 15 random items available.
Something like this would be great
You could save points and wait for the… 7th or something
And for a couple days have a larger exchange menu
This. I want the Mirage armor.
Ya, it could be tied to the monthly challenge reset while the regular store is tied to the weekly challenges. It’d help people catch up that have a bunch of points banked. Think all im missing is the prism visor, avalanche sniper, and scorned fate rocket from H3.
I can’t wait to run around killing people (getting killed is more like it) while roleplaying as a Headhunter.
Can you seriously shut up with that already? At this point, you’re just spamming the same thing over and over again.
I’m in the same boat. I stopped at 250 points in Feburary because I figured if there’s eventually more exchange items or seasons that should be enough to cover plus points from additional challenges if needed. Aside from the Flood FF update in April, we haven’t seen anything new in this game. I think the last exchange item I bought was in January.
343 has been very quiet about MCC. I know there’s other things like the CGB for H2C, H2A and H4 that they are likely working on along with campaign crossplay for the non H3 and ODST games. I wonder even if we will get anymore full seasons. To others points as well, I wish the exchange was structured a but differently. Give people the opprtunity to use season points to buy featured weekly items at a discount, all other items should remain in the exchange as well but costing more points until they are featured again for the week.
