I saw the ultimate reward for this week and I think it’s neat. Problem is, I’ve got some bad challenges and I would really like to swap them out. With there being fewer challenge swaps in the Season 2 pass, it’s only going to end up with more weeks where the ultimate reward isn’t worth dealing with bad challenges. Buying the swaps seems like a waste of money because I could end up with another bad challenge, and I’ve completed the Season 1 pass so I don’t have any use for boosts. Even if it’s one free swap a day like in Gears 5, that would at least give me a change to swap a bad challenge for something less bad.

A free swap a day sounds downright reasonable. If they made it a daily login reward and it would probably boost player engagement. That’d be a win for players and 343 both.

One free challenge swap a day has literally been a thing in every game I’ve played with a challenge system until Infinite.

1 a day maybe a bit much, since that means you can on average swap out 7 of the 20 challenges…
Perhaps just 3 swaps a week that you get when the challenges reset (so every tuesday). Then you can also get them out of the season pass and replace it with something else (some nameplates, backdrops, etc. or perhaps an XP boost)
I’ve used all my swaps this week to get out of tactical slayer matches. And now I’m stuck with a bunch of fiesta ones. As if 5 straight fiesta weeks wasn’t bad enough

That’s why I’m more in favor of 1/week or 1/5000 XP.
One a week makes sense since they are weekly challenges and chances are players will only have 1 really bad challenge that they want to swap. This isn’t always the case, but it isn’t unreasonable. Also not using one during a week means a player will 2 the next week and so on.
Letting players earn swaps through play time and accomplishments is the method I prefer more though. Basically after a player completes the season pass, they gain access to a “post-season pass” where every 5000 XP they earn a Swap. I chose 5000 because the current daily challenge set up allows players to earn 1000 XP in 6 games (easily accomplished in 1 day). So the bare minimum of play allows player to earn 1 swap every 5 days. And this will be faster when completing challenges.
Use swaps to complete challenges and get XP which rewards more swaps. The system feeds itself.
And if you just need more, buy them.

I’ve played 20 ranked and quick play games in a row with not one oddball match. The only challenge I have left is play two oddball games. At this point I’m pretty sure this cant be a coincidence.

I still have 18 swaps leftover from season 1. Tho I probably did burn 3 or 4 just this week. If they gave me 1/day I’d be so swole with swaps.
If I were you I’d save the rest of those challenge swaps until they update the challenges. Sounds like a ticket for burnout.

Every weekly reset, everybody should get 4 free challenge swaps. Nothing more than reasonable.

A daily sign in with CS reward would be nice.
Each day rewards you 1 CS.
7 days in a row rewards you 3 CS.
2 weeks in a row rewards 10
1 month in a row rewards 30 or something.

And? You seem to be forgetting the very real possibility that you just get a worse challenge after swapping. Or people who want to swap out of a challenge that’s a particular gamemode they hate (like I hate Tactical Slayer, and I pretty much only play with friends so I can’t do FFA challenges). I really don’t find 7 swaps to be unreasonable when you could use all 7 in a row and still just get FFA challenges. If the challenge system wasn’t so bad in the first place I might agree with you though.

Absolutely, 1 free swap a day for logging in is not asking to much. Halo 5 had a free REQ pack a day for logging in ffs…

I appear to be one of the rare ones who commonly gets through a week of Challenges without using Challenge Swaps 
The only time I really use one is when I get a Ranked Challenge since I hate Ranked that much but they’re so rare that, again, it just results in me using only one of my Challenge Swaps - maybe two.
I think I had around 48 Challenge Swaps by the time I completed the BP a month after Season 1’s start. Currently I still have 38 even after several months later.
That said though, I’m all for a Free Challenge Swap. Definitely some kind of login bonus or just a certain number of them every week. Other than the possibility of getting a worse Challenge when you use a Swap, there’s also the fact that more Swaps will be the closest for players to be able to get Challenges where they can play whatever game mode they want to get them.
For my personal experiences, I get a lot of Team Slayer, Tactical Slayer, and Fiesta-focused Challenges - Play Games, Win Games, Cumulative Scoring, etc. - and while I don’t hate any of those modes…I just want to play BTB more

Another option is the make the weekly reward a bundle where you get the special item & 1-2 swaps for completing everything. So you get your dividends back, but only if you can beat everything.
I agree, we either need 2-3 free challenge swaps per week or a way to earn them by playing if they’re no longer in the season pass.
I completed the Season 1 pass quite some time ago and used all of my swaps. Ever since completing the pass I’ve had no way to obtain anymore swaps unless I want to spend money… Which why would anyone really do that when it’s an RNG chance you could get an even worse challenge.
Maybe I’d pay money to SKIP certain challenges altogether but not to simply swap them.
I don’t know what the exact answer but with another 6 month season coming up there needs to be a way to address. The longee the season the less likely people will have any swaps to use. In fact, next season will probably be worse as I think most swaps have been removed from the pass.

I had a similar experience last night. I have no swaps left and one of my challenges was to claim 3 zones in PvP. I had to back out of so many matches before it finally gave me a Strongholds match. That was infuriating.

would be nice, I’ve been grinding BTB and Quickplay for 4 hours to get a CTF game for a flag recover kill challenge . but no luck ATM + was a bit frustrated started quiting BTB’s for a CTF game but I’m on my 1st ban now so I’m back to hoping that I’ll get 1 CTF match.

Buying them isn’t an option for me, or for others. Relying on people splashing out cash is not a fix for an issue. Gears 5 sells swaps but also gives out one free every day.
