Can we get an option for classic forge controls or different control variations in the ghosts of meridian update i just feel Like the old controls were much better imo
except the old ones dont use some of the newer mechanics. I would much prefer we be allowed to map our own controls.
My only problem with the controls is that I can’t Forge in classic games now because I’m so used to the new ones.
What I want is for them to add the new controls into mcc so I can finish some of my maps

Old isn’t necessarily better.
Most of the issues I had with it have been patched and adjusted, so I no longer have much of an issue with them. I can understand the learning curve to adapting to the new controls, but they are leagues better once you have them down.
Only thing is that going to the classic Forges really messes with my head. But there’s no conceivable reason for me to do so at this point.

You can map any of the buttons with your controller since a few dashboard updates ago.

True, but the change is system-wide. If you mapped the X button’s function to RB, it would still behave like you were pressing X everywhere else with that button.
When forge came out for Halo 5 I HATED it. The controls, blocks, ect.
But then I started to get into it. I learned the controls, adapted to it, and got used to the forge menu.
I am now addicted and can’t stop making amazing maps. You have to get used to it. Adapt to modern style games.
But yeah they should add a diffrent control scheme maybe called (classic)
Or at least both classic and present control schemes.
It wouldn’t work, the new controls were made for all the new features, it wouldn’t work at all with the old controls.
It’s a steep learning curve man, I’ll admit. And sadly it really takes a solid 20-50 hours to adjust, let alone 80+ hours to get to the point where it’s second nature. When you put the time in you’ll see how much better the new controls are.
one thing I really love that’s new is a technique I use to quickly get around. Basically I’ll look at an object, select it, push the right thumb stick in once or twice (to change how close I am to said object), and then orbit around the object to where I want to go. Then deselect the object of course.
Kinda feels like a grappling hook for the monitor LOL
The new Forge controls are pretty nice once you get used to them.
I don’t mind the new controls overall as I’ve gotten used to them, but honestly I shouldn’t need to know literal rocket science in order to get a few of the mechanics to work like DOORS for example. But… once you do get the hand of it all it can be pretty addicting.
