Can we get bots in custom games for Halo infinite

I have always loved bot support in video games. I have spent many happy hours playing offline with them. And I know that people will probably say that why play with bots when you can play online with real people, but I don’t want to keep dying and dying, while ending the game with only a few kills. And I know you’ll just tell me to get good, but I want to play lots of games, I don’t really want to just play one game over and over again for months on end just to get good. It would also be I nice addition for custom games/LAN parties. I only have a small group of friend, so being able to add bots to the lobby in order to have a full 8 v 8 on, lets say Blood Gulch, would make the game Infinitely better, pun intended. Anyone else want to see bots in Halo Infinite.

Also playable Elites and Invasion, even if it’s just for custom games, would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t want bots. I think its just a waste of dev time and would rather they work on more important things.

Not to mention that pretty much every game that’s tried to implement bots they just end up being laughable easy or borderline broken. This doesn’t add much to the overall experience for the game in my opinion.

However if by chance infinite has bots, please for the love of god leave them out of online multiplayer.

My thoughts on bots as well. I think it would be more worthwhile to focus on getting other parts of the game right.

While true bots can be laughable easy, but there are games where bots can be pretty tough as well. But who cares if there easy, all I care about is if I am having fun, and sometimes killing mindless AI entertains me more than playing with real people. And think about this, people will stop playing eventually, or servers will be shut down, for example original Halo 2. With bot support you can still enjoy the game for many years after people stop playing, and while true there will probably be more Halo games at that point, it is always great to go back to the older games and relive those memories.

If you want here is a video on why I think all multiplayer games should have bots.

bots should be a custom game option. they could use campaign AI on legendary with some minor cheats ( like memorizing map path taken by the player and using those to get to objectives and a increased path finding radius ( possible because only a few bots would need to be calculated, insted of the entire sandbox)). This could be used for a firefight gametype, custom warzone or just bot gametypes. all created through forge. some ai paths should be setable by the player to help ai movement. including gametype specific gametype ai behavior ( carry flags/plant bombs, take hills/territories, search oddballs, play griffball) would be the hardest part. some custom ai scripting should be included.

I mean I can’t see it being too hard, they already have so many different types of aliens with different attacks and animations, it would think it would be child’s play for them; and I do believe it would be nice to add bots in custom games and Firefight, as it would add whole other level of fun to the game play, and on an unrelated note please add AI to forge.

Bots are great in custom games for learning how maps play, or those days when no friends are online, or you’re sick but still want to play, internet is out, servers have been shut down, etc. I would love bots to be in Halo. I agree they should only be in custom games, though. We’ve already seen bots in Warzone, it shouldn’t be too hard to do for custom Arena matches.

I think that bots can be beneficial for Halo. They could help new players get used to how multiplayer works before heading in for the first time, and possibly get crushed to the point where they can’t learn anything. Of course making bots for a game like Halo would be way trickier than most others, since it is a tactical shooter.

I agree. They should be included but kept out of anything but customs.

> Try TImesplitters bots, and 4player Split Screen, and 10 bots, if done correctly like the Campaign bots! which have always been smart, and aware of their surroundings and play the objectives!, this could very well be my favourite game, and i would personally pay $1000 myself, to have the option of bots, control the diffuclty so my mum and gf can play, all the way upto, insane -Yoink-, so i can play competive on my own

> Timesplitters has always been my go to game number one favourite game of all time! and look up youtube, im not the only one who agrees!, infact the only reason why i still own a PS2 and Xbox original, i load it up, and i just play with the settings i want, on the map, and i can adjust everything on it! from weapons to vehicles, to how many bots im gonna play with, and they play all game modes! just as player would!, and apart from all the crazy weapons and everything the game is fair and competive like halo…My mum still loves to come around and make sure, im still eating and got a job, and play some timesplitters with me and gf. Capture the bag on Training ground is her favourite. and with the bots, the skill level is evened out, she can have 7bots on her team and i can have 2? you understand what i mean.

Never heard of that game but I’ll check some gameplay out.

If 343i could manage to implement bots like the ones you’re talking about I wouldn’t mind them being in custom games at all, just not at the expense of other content.

I really just don’t want them to add half–Yoinked!- bots like most games seem to do, just for the sake of having them. I just find it hard to believe that they can do bots that could appropriately use things like sprint, thrust, strafe etc.

Sprint= call of duty bots, thrust, Halo 2 elites, outside Cairo station have Jetpacks, soo i don’t think that could be too hard, and strafe, well let the bots, just jump out of the way of grenades ;") which they do anyway, and heh heh, and tell me what you think of "Timesplitters Future perfect, = 2005 and TImesplitters 2= 2002 and TImesplitters 1= 2000, not many peeps talk about the first one, and oh i know, but knowing Halo’s track record, bots in the Campaign and firefight, ally marines, and Covenant elite, always get into vehicles if close by, and unmanned. and even Elites have stolen my Vehicles from me, in Halo 2, Campaign, “Outskirts mission.” besides with today’s internet connectivity and updates every month, “Devs” can fix their mistakes…

They’ve said the reason why they didn’t add bots before was due to the engines limitations, so now that they have a new engine we’ll finally get offline bots?
Here’s to hoping. :+1::cocktail:

I hope 343 bring him in halo infinite

Honestly bots are such a waste of time. In Gears of war they are pretty much just free kills for the opposing team. They are the lowest of priority for the devs.

As a rising forger, there is nothing I want more than bots. It’s almost impossible for me to get 4 v 4 for playtesting. (Yes, I know scripting AI for forge is difficult, but it seems possible.)

For custom games sure, no way though for matchmaking.

Well as much as I have been calling for more AI NPCs in multiplayer, AI has never quite been able to mimic a player’s behavior in FPS games. So having a bot as a substitute for a player will never work. That is not to say we can’t have bots that are both easy (grunts) or mini-bosses (hunters). However I would prefer that it is easy to tell the difference between a player and an AI controlled character without having to observe movement or interactions. I sort of want what Titanfall did where all players are pilots and all the bots are different NPCs that come in the form of fodder and challenging with players acting more as a wildcard. I wouldn’t mind seeing some AI piloted vehicles as well.

It’s about time Halo had bots, but not in online match making. They’re good for learning, especially for new players. I remember bots in many games, it’s time Halo had them, and forgable AI too.
