I don’t have a strong disliking of any one particular item. But I wouldn’t mind not having to look at any of them.
Yes, the cat ears were funny. But the novelty, and that’s all there is to all this silly stuff is novelty has long since worn off. Sure, I guess you could imagine that but we all know no one in their right mind would actually make that.
Some people have good taste, but again the whole request is about personal preference. But plenty of people are still covered in blue VFX or some cat ears.
A toggle doesn’t stop anyone from doing anything regarding their own Spartan. They pay for the privilege of customising their Spartan with something. The ecosystem wouldn’t change, people wouldn’t stop buying cosmetics just because a certain amount of unknowns might not see it especially when something like 95% of cosmetics are canon anyhow.
Well somehow, that doesn’t seem like a good thing. Nor does how I react to getting teabagged change depending on what who does it looks like. I don’t get angry over cosmetics. I just don’t want to see them.
Which is fine, and I tell you what - it would make no difference to you if there was a toggle. Why? If you didn’t use it you’d forget about it and you’re as likely to wonder if one of the hundreds of players you ran into that day couldn’t see your cat ears as you are to wonder if they were constantly looking away from their TV.
You wouldn’t know, you don’t know how someone is reacting to you unless they tell you. It’s all in your head. Same for your sons.
We can put whatever we want on Noble Six, same as our MP infinite Spartan. Not relevant.
First person I’ve met to call Emile’s helmet silly. It’s a beloved design, but no - there are leaps and bounds between something purely cosmetic for players and something Bungie/343 put on a character.
This is like arguing that Craig is canon. We know he’s not just like cat ears. Lmao.
Wrong. Various armour were canon even before then. Forgot Halo was multimedia? Halo Legends uses CQB, Ghost of Onyx includes SPI. Plus all of Halo 3s armour have canon lore descriptions. And Mark IV has been around since Fall of Reach.
What armour is canon has never changed. Not once, not ever. If you can find evidence of any single piece of armour becoming non-canon then even then that’s just one. What’s canon is pretty static, and very easy to understand.
I just want the option to have the Traditional team colors back,
Red vs. Blue
The Armor coating system is awful, and would rather be plying games where I know what color my team is and that I should shoot at the ones that aren’t my teams color.
Not as controlling as being realistic. If you made any other points other than being derogatory against the suggestion maybe you’d have any merit. You’re literally trying to just belittle people having complaints about a game by trying to pull in external things to whine abouy
I personally don’t have them (Firefall looks really bad with them), however, on helmets like Scout and Anubis, it makes it look “wolf-like”, but not in the “furry” way.
That’s harder than you think. For example, Achilles is a canon armor in Halo 5. However, it probably shouldn’t be. Same for Hayabusa in Halo 3, and its katana. So, where is the line drawn? Cause carrying a katana into a battle is arguably more silly than a second set of ears.
I made the argument above for a “Silly Slider” my state 2 is really what i want. I just a consistent art style that may have a few silly things in there like Tenrai or Hayabusa but Cat Ears and the new EagleStrike armors don’t match that art style, same with almost everything from H4 and 5, they dont match and besides Helioskrill I would like to not see H4 and 5 and stuff from infinite that i mentioned above. They just don’t match the art style and when playing in a set world i want to see things that feel like they belong. I don’t want to play checkers with chess pieces is a good way to put it. Sure it works but its just off and not what i came here for
Noble 6 is cannon, what he/she wears is cannon. The books and anime are not cannon, Remember when people got mad when reach deleted a bunch of books that people thought were cannon. Redcons in future games do not change the cannon at the time the older games were out. Name one armor that changed to being cannon? OK. Recon was not cannon until ODST. EVA was not cannon until Reach. Spartans in ODST was not cannon until 5. 4 made multiplayer cannon and all the armor in that game became cannon. 5 added even more armor to cannon, including cat ears. Like the armor in Halo 3, the multiplayer maps in were not cannon despite having in game descriptions that make them sound like they are part of the world.
“Agree with me or don’t post.” Gotcha. But I am only belittling your self important “realist” attitude. The other people I’m having a discussion with, we might not agree on the subject of cannon but at least they add to a conversation. Some things we agree on, but all you want to see is “bad man wants to make me look at things in a video game but I haven’t fully grown emotionally and mentally to be able to handle seeing someone’s shoulders on fire.” This isn’t a serious subject, even OP has said that he is not loosing his mind over this and its just a simple feature he would like to be added for QOL. Maybe you should change your attitude. Or don’t. I don’t care. No harm to me.
I think that the Fractures are good for mixing in a new art style. Same for cores. Mk VII is for the Infinite art style, a Mark VI Gen. 2 would be for 5’s, and Mark V [B] is for the Bungie art style and Reach era stuff.
I do see where you are coming from though.
Do people not get that he can still see? Like he isn’t adding new material. All Emile did was scratch up his already damaged helmet (unless that isn’t canon since it was in a book). If anything, Emile would just need to avoid looking at bright things since his helmet has no tint.
You’re not wrong Hudso, but I’m trying to think of this based on what is going on with Halo Infinite specifically. Seeing as Achilles would likely be something to return in a fracture, given that Infinite is a sort of aesthetic reboot for the franchise.
I asked you name an armour that became non-canon. So again, not even really understanding what I’m saying, are you?
Furthermore, your post hinges off the fact you get to decide what is canon or isn’t when that simply isn’t the case. I’m also going to completely ignore you from here on out as, there is no logical boundaries for our discussion to have any merit as you have simply demonstrated.
Really? You misunderstood what I said by thinking I meant they took out armor from cannon but you’re going to throw personal attack towards me? I repeat it again. Read it slowly this time so it doesn’t go over your head for a third time.
I said what is cannon changes from game to game. As in armor that was not cannon before, becomes cannon later. For example Eva was not cannon in Halo 3, but then became retconned after Reach. Your misunderstanding of what I was saying is on you, not me.
Could say the same thing about this whole thread you made because you made yourself out to be the arbiter of what is and isn’t cannon. According to you the armor of Nobel 6 is irrelevant. According to Bungie, who made the game, Nobel 6 has no definite cannon armor and they wanted to not put that charter in promotional material. Instead Bunige stated that Nobel was meant to be a surrogate for the player and that however the player customized him/her that would be the cannon Nobel 6 in their playthrough. TLDR according to Bungie my lighting and skull is 100% cannon regardless of your gatekeeping.
Coming from a grown man who is at least 29/30-something and who thinks a toggle is good idea… I’ll take a complement. It isn’t every day when a pro in the field tips his hat to me.
