Can we get an option to change the acceleration curve please?

For a long time I was a firm believer that aim assist was broken in Infinite. While I do still think there is a bug on PC that causes the game to randomly recognize the KBM I have now come to the conclusion that the biggest issue with aiming is the response curve.

Previous Halo games felt like a wide/relaxed response curve Infinite definitely uses a linear curve. I have also found a bug that causes the response curve to get stuck at max value only fixable by rebooting the game. Which I have reported to the support team.

In a future update I would love the ability to be able to customize my response curve within the controller settings page. Having the option to chose whichever works best for my personal playstyle.

not Shure why there wasnt alot of players talking about halo infinite aiming issue
response curve, is too tight
and axial aiming, faster than x and y :frowning:

Probably because it’s more of a tier 2 issue compared to a tier 1 issue like desync. But yes aiming in this game needs changing.

They need all the advanced settings apex/titanfall 2 has for aim in this game. It will fix it for everyone.

I really wish Halo Infinite had this option. It’s nice having the option to adjust curve in Elite 2 controller/Xbox Accessories app, but it’s just not comfortable as my Switch Pro which is why I’m returning it. When I go to play Splitgate the aiming difference is like night and day.

Another thing I noticed the controller curve bug happens way more often using Steam with Steam Input compared to playing via Xbox app. Which is also annoying because at least Steam has an option to adjust acceleration curves.

What Infinite really needs is for sticky reticle to trigger in a wider radius. (Controller only)

In previous Halo games, sticky reticle would trigger in a radius around the enemy, slowing your reticle as you approach them so you can manually aim within that radius for precision.

In Infinite sticky reticle only triggers when the reticle is already on-target. This makes the reticle feel like it gets “caught” and your micro-adjustments get super jittery.

They also need to remove all “negative aim assist” on Mouse. Your reticle should not move without your input on M&K. They should also get red-reticle and some amount of bullet magnetism. Halo movement is too erratic for your shots to go “fully straight” reticles in Halo exist for a reason, and if an enemy is in the reticle, and the reticle is within red range, the shot should connect even if the very center of the reticle isn’t quite on target.

They should also completely abandon recoil as a mechanic.

Opposite for me. Xbox app version is the worst.

I have some links to go along with this.

Both give descriptions of the issues with acceleration. Especially the vertical acceleration. It’s super slow.

I came across a nice video explaining the acceleration curve issue in Infinite, and also shows why the Elite controller curve adjustment isn’t a solution:

Yeah the Elite doesn’t help.
