If you want to talk other games, General Discussion generally works well enough for that. Even, to an extent, movies and such.
However, if you really want to discuss food and other subjects with “a forum community,” I highly encourage you to find another community to join. These forums were established to discuss primarily Halo and I don’t see an OT section being implemented any time soon, if ever.
As a mod, I can’t say I’m too disappointed by that.
Cats wasn’t an off-topic section in the Gamma forums, people just treated it as such.
As for an off-topic section, if you want to talk off-topic, you’ve got Yo-Yo! for that, if you don’t want to talk there, then you’ll be talking off site.
Halo Waypoint is exclusively for Xbox & Halo discussion, not to discuss what you ate last week for breakfast.

@ Replies, Say if i wanted to discuss playing a game Like Gears 3 with people on this website, or just my overall experiences with it would i post in the General Discussion? or is that against the rule ?

Discussion of Xbox games in general belongs in General Discussion, Gears of Wars 3 is perfectly fine.

Thanks! Now i have a place to be on these forums. I’m always on the Flood, but i was told to give this forum a chance by someone.
No, I honestly feel this forum is better without an off-topic forum akin to Bungine.net’s The Flood. I come here to discuss Halo and Xbox, and that’s all I expect to see here.
Why doesn’t Halo waypoint have a forum where you can just talk with other people about random stuff? I’m sure a lot of us have that, and there isn’t a true place to go to place what we want to say, which sucks.
If they do have one, first thing I’d do is ask about who plays halo and was a fan of bionicle?
Use Yo-Yo for random discussions, and General Discussion for gaming of all sorts. An Off Topic section isn’t needed because the threads would just take up space once it gets a few posts. If there’s something specific you want to discuss, you should check out a forum dedicated to it.
