The community has spoken.
I’m sure that 343i is well aware of the common sentiment in regard to the upcoming CSR ranking system. The community wants answers, badly.
We know that you do not want visible rankings, give us in depth reasons why. Just tell us flat out if it is even possible at this point in time. All we want is a completely clear post or bulletin that clarifies all questions regarding CSR in-game visibility.
343i is afraid to admit their failures in this game. Every company does that. However, the only thing, i like what 343 did was custom loadouts, newer and cool looking armors, spops, and ord drops.
TGAM is scary.
OP, the reason is that ‘So hackers and cheaters have less incentive’.
Yeah I read that somewhere. But to be honest, I feel completely disenfranchised as a competitive player. The visible rank used to mean something. It used to be an impressive accolade that showed skill and hard work. But ever since reach, rank has been an indicator of time spent playing, that’s it. This is completely useless to players who were used to ranking based off of how talented they were at the game.
Isnt it obvious? They dont want people waving their e-penises around.
And I dont care if “thats the whole point,” because thats the most likely reason its not in the game!
Have you even experienced that?
Plus, would it be such a detriment to you if there were separate playlists to accommodate people who prefer a little more competition? So what if we want a visible rank? Does this immediately devalue the game for you? Honestly, if that’s how some players feel they should go play on the social playlists.
If the “hackers and booster” thing was the real reason then they should have made your spartan rank (SR experienced based rank) invisible as well. There are more boosters with xp ranking systems then there are with skill based ranking systems.
It seems as if they are punishing the competitive group of players because of what a very small group of boosters do. Even when I encountered a lot of boosters in H3 their effect on my competitive matchmaking experience was minute in comparison to the great overall experience.
It’s essentially for the same reason that almost no one uses their mics anymore. Not to mention the amount of abuse that occurred with the system 1-50 in Halo 3. It was as a whole, a frustrating experience for many players and while the Arena was not popular it did get one thing right… percentile based ranking, where only the best of the best could have the highest rank.
Its because MS would rather sell you a Halo game every year , or however often they choose to release them , along with what ever other AAA games hit the market.
Halo 2 made two things glaringly obvious to MS. Halo can be an exceptionally long lived game , and when it is , all other game sales tank. MS doesn’t want you playing Halo for 2 or 3 years and exclude every other Xbox product available.
Last I checked MS owns Halo , MS owns 343i. MS is not giving you visible CSR in game because they like you buying games , and a CSR will prevent that. Blame MS not 343i.
