Be me.
get 4 good games in a row with team mates on coms in solo duos.
Climb up into Diamond 6 through teamwork in team based games.
Get 2 games with NO ONE ON MICS.
Back to diamond 5… again.
This has been repeated almost daily now. Im running around trying to call out enemies, using pings. Playing to win. Everyday, WITHOUT FAIL… i end up playing with the deaf mute society and getting put back to where i started.
They say an indicator to madness is repeating the same action and expecting different results.
I dont care what your control method is, you can use a controller or MnK, hell, you can use bumhole beads for all i care. But use a mic for the love of god.
Im tired. Im worn out. I cant take it anymore.
Can we please get a playlist for those of us that dont want to be handicapped by those who dont want to play as a team in team based objective modes?
Im an EU player this seems to be predominantly an EU problem, if i no life all nighter it, i get American teammates who are not shy and will use coms. Dont make me turn into a grave yard shifter just for a weapon charm 343. Please.
Personally my chat’s set to friends only because, as I’ve said before, I can’t stand the screaming kids.
From a previous thread there were many reason why forced chat wouldn’t work. I realise your suggestion is a voluntary separate playlist which could work but then splitting the ranks again and again kind of takes away the achievement. For example would we have to split the ranks for every language as well.
In solo/duo everyone is in the same boat, sometimes you have comms, sometimes not. Learning how to be good with both comms and not comms is important.
Most pros and streamers do not use comms when solo/duo yet still reach the highest ranks because they use different cues and awareness.
I think a better idea is to look in recruiting right here or set up your own thread there
I have not yet reached a point in ranked where people routinely use the ping indicator for important information, but so far it is rare that anyone relays information over mic or even text in an emergency. I think instead of a playlist / new rank it could be nice to have an option / preference to queue with other people with/without comms.
Alright chill out, there’s 24 languages here, it’s a chore just finding out which one to speak, as soon as a French accent is heard there’s 10 minutes of onion and surrender jokes that interfere.
Not to mention we’ve spent hundreds of years blowing the out of each other in real life. We don’t need to speak to each other doing it in a simulation, we can do it with our eyes (and mouths) closed .
Another classic I used in my youth when I heard some french on the mic was ‘ribbit ribbit’. The joys of youth.
I straight up don’t hear that anymore. It used to be so common to be exposed to all of these people. Maybe people are more passive and less competitive nowadays. I can handle being called a Paddy or a potato muncher or whatever so long as in the process they tell me if there’s a guy one shot on flag etc
Even Americans whose only comeback is something like 'Go back to whatever shi*ty country you’re from, this game is ‘Murrican’ is preferable to nothing. Kettle black etc but still.
A lot of jokes are completely missed by certain countries, if I don’t address my own mother as a c-word at least once on a visit she’ll wonder if everything is ok.
If I even say that while laughing down a mic, the ban hammer strikes.
If on a visit to the US I say “alright?” as a greeting they look themselves up and down and check for injuries and wonder what could be wrong with them even though it’s exactly the same as “what’s up?”,
I can’t be bothered explaining every phrase and joke to every nation. It’s bad enough on here people taking offense to absolutely everything because it’s misinterpreted,
Sorry guys, gotta spend money on a mic to play in this playlist.
Also, just because you have one doesn’t mean you use it or even communicate about the game. I don’t use mine. If you want communication, then get a group together, don’t put the effort on 343 and just do it yourself.
Right? Its insane. When the team is on coms vs the deaf mutes, its an absolute steam roll. Why wont people take the obvious advantage thats given to them.
You probably wouldnt get this at high ranks. I would have hoped the emphasis would have been on teamwork rather than tired old jokes.
Thats 100% true and i posted this out of sheer frustration and didnt consider that.
Im not after a comedy club. 2 on my X, enemy has spanker etc etc is all thats needed.
At high levels im assuming most people use a headset. Its an advantage why wouldnt you. i use mine all the time even with the deaf mutes, cause i want the win, ill give my team mates intel when i can.
1000%
Being british, i tell the americans i have tea and crumpets and ill share them with the winners. I never thought id say this but getting an american team is the optimal situation. Funny enough, ive met a few Irish on halo too they also dont seem to be scared of the microphone.
Thanks for being a team player bud!
I haven’t used a mic in a very long time*, basically since my old Microsoft-made wireless earpiece originally for the 360 died.
However, if another teammate is using their mic and actually calling stuff out to try to coordinate the team, I definitely pay attention. I also using the marking system and stuff.
*I sometimes use the party system with friends, and when l do that, l can use the Xbox mobile app for voice chat with the party.
Oh man, are we talking the one that sat on your ear like an old bluetooth headset? I have one of those to this day somewhere… i hated it. It flapped about and constantly fell off.
No wonder you never bought another, get some over the ear headphones with built in mic. Its an absolute game changer.
I use teh Arctis Pro + GameDAC now. I can hear a fly fart from the other side of behemoth.
Yes, that’s the one I’m talking about, and I actually liked it. I don’t like playing with full headsets. I’ve tried getting the most expensive surround sound headset possible and their audio quality is crap.
But also, I don’t like talking to to people anyway because half of all FPS players are garbage humans.
Sometimes its not about the price to be fair. My headset isnt as pricey as say the Astro A50’s, you can get them for about £180 with the GameDAC.
I put a lot of stock in sounds though to be fair, i own several sets of headphones for different tasks. From Bose ANC headphones to cheap and cheerful.
That being said, the Arctis pro is probably my favourite right now, even for watching a movie or listening to music while i work… the bass is incredible and being able to flip them into HiRes 24bit mode is crazy. The quality really is something else.
(Not a paid sponsor, but if your reading this SteelSeries, id shill your products for ya)
I get you. I have a 120" screen in my sitting room with a full DTS/THX sound system tahts been profesionally calibrated. Its amazing for movies and tv shows but for gaming, ill take a good set of cans any day.
Grab some from amazon, if you dont like them, just return them.
Enforce is a strong word. it could be used by players that want to work cohesively as a team. If i had the option to increase my chances of being put on a team that worked together (without relying on outside sources such as discords or LFG on xbox) id certainly use it.
