I need to know…we are for all intents and purposes at the perfect setting for a new outbreak with Infinite. I need to know if this is possible… I also would like some reassurance that 343 isn’t going to spit on the legacy that is the sole reason they exist as a company. I want the flood back, I don’t want some cartoony death nonsense.
It’s called Blood Gulch for a reason.
Not including the flood or being rated T is not a spit in the face to legacy players or halos legacy. IMO that marine death is extremely cartoony with his wobbles and knee fall. Also, I think that flood transformation is just as cartoony. It’s not bones breaking and gore everywhere, its some flailing, some tan bubbles and boom, flood form. I honestly think the only way for the flood to be rated M is by making them more visually like necromorphs, only with the infected form more involved. I do want more blood in infinite, but people make it seem its way to integral to the games then it actually is. Only one scene ever actually used it to any real effect (in CE with the grunt blood all of the walls before meeting the flood).
Anyway, yes it’s possible for flood to be in infinite, and no it does not require an M rating. I think they could do more interesting things with an M rating but its not needed.
Yeah it’s possible. No Halo deserves its M rating even the games with the Flood. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Flood are in the game and it still get a T rating.
Well you can see flood transformation in halo wars two which was rated teen

Look at Halo Wars 1 and 2, the flood looks good and it feels like it did in all the other games that included the flood. Flood can work on a T game, and it was already done well 2 times

You did see the guy snap his own neck right? That’s pretty disturbing and not very cartoonish to me.
Halo Wars 2 had a T rating and look how cool and creepy they were in that.
Look. Back in the day, video games and vulgar music were blamed for everything. That’s the whole reason you have parental advisory stickers and rating systems on games to begin with. A bunch of old Karen’s blamed violent behavior and school shootings on DOOM & Marilyn Manson and for years since, every first person shooter video game had an “M” rating no matter what. Just for liability.
CE was never mature. Halo 2 was never mature. And Halo 3 certainly wasn’t. That rating was a product of its time. (Actually, Halo 2 had an image file hidden in the code of one of Bungie’s developers mooning the camera. So its “M” for partial nudity is from that more than anything that’s actually in the game).
Kids movies from the 80s had more swearing, gore, and violence than any of those games.
GTA? Yeah, definitely mature. Halo? Seriously?

Agreed. The Flood can indeed still work well on a T game though I would still love Halo Infinite to be M-rated but yes the Flood can still appear in both, T and M rated games.

that’s the exception to how the flood is portrayed, not the rule. Also, I would argue modern audiences find that as disturbing as being shot in the head. In other words, not that disturbing. Its not the early 2000s. If they made it more like Alien where people were cemented into the walls being slowly changed and disfigured, or again, it being like a necromorph, I could see the M rating. As it was in CE-3 and now, I don’t see them being viewed as more than an alien
The flood is the reason that the original trilogy was rated M.

You don’t actually see the transformation, just screams.
