Can we drop the bomb?

Thread title. Has there been any word on it?

Currently, CTF has changed so that if you touch the flag, you automatically turn into Edward Flaggerhands.

Is bomb the same? Throwing it would probably break bomb as well.

I think throwing the bomb would be alot better than throwing the oddball, but thats just my take on it at first glance.

Not being able to drop tho is stupid…

We’ve seen Oddball but we haven’t seen Assault yet so I’m not sure anyone has the answers to that. Interesting question though.

Assault most definitely exists, Grifball is in the game, so Assault is certainly in the game. It wouldn’t make any logical sense to not include a much loved, classic gamemode, If Assault wasn’t in the game, it would cause a large amount of disapproval amongst both the competitive and more casual crowd.

I think you should be able to pass the bomb like a football. It makes sense.

Of course you can drop the bomb. In CTF, you steal the flag from your base. But in Assault, the bomb is already in your base, which you have to plant in the enemy base. If it restricted you to dropping the bomb, then you wouldn’t be able to pick up a weapon in your base before you go out.

Grifball is a wholly separate gametype this time around and is not built from Assault. It actually has more in common with Oddball than anything.

That said, I would be surprised if Assault isn’t in the game. It’s a fan-favorite.

Except you’re missing what makes Grifball special in Halo 4 - it’s NOT based off the Assault gametype. It’s it’s own, separately built/coded gametype instead of being modified off of Assault. So to say that “of course” it exists is an assumption.

I would be surprised if it WASN’T in Halo 4 but I’m not going to assume it is.

griffball being in the game doesnt mean assault is, because griffball is no longer just an assault variant. also im not stating that its not in (it better be in i love assault), but we havent even been told whether its in or not. 343 hasnt even mentioned its name yet
