Can we cut the nostalgia please?

Now, to begin, I DON’T have an issue with liking any Halo game over any other, I don’t have an issue with preferences at all. However, can people PLEASE, just cut the “Halo CE/2/3 was better” junk?

We know, you liked so-and-so “perfect” Halo game, and these newfangled ones, with all those youngsters, noobs, and totally not skilled people being the onyl ones that like it. We get you dislike some of the issues. I for one am disappointed in Spartan Ops/Lack of Firefight, some of the inevitable glitches that a new release game is gonna have.

But you know what? No game is ever gonna be perfect. Halo 3, I recall, was HATED when it came out. People constantly drew comparisons to Halo 2, said how it was better, and yadadada, you get the picture. Same with the much vaunted Halo 2.

My point is, Halo CE/2/3 were, and are great games. I like Halo 4 more personally, but their all good, even though I never got the chance to play Halo CE/2 during their best times. But please, if you gonna complain about Halo 4, stop complaining about how their not the previous Halos. 343 is NEVER going to revert back to that. Sorry, but their not. And that’s good. Halo 4 would have totally sunk(which it has not, I will add)if it was Halo 3 with shiny graphics and a different number. Games need to evolve and change to fit more than just their older audience.

And PLEASE stop whining about glitches, lack of certain playlists, OP whateverits, until their patched. And I’m not saying don’t make the issue known. I’m saying don’t use it as a reason for “why Halo 4 sucks”, because that issue could simply disappear with the coming inevitable patch(s). Map packs are coming soon too, and from whaling MLG fights, I’m really starting to not get the whole issue between the DMR and the BR…

In short, complaints, making issues known, that’s good. But don’t go on and on about the “glory days” of Halo. Those are never coming back the way they were. The shooter world has changed immensely since those glory days. Halo isn’t the only big shooter anymore, and I’m almost sure will never be the biggest ever again. And please be constructive in your posts.

I’m complaining about people whining over something that is never gonan happen. If you think Halo CE/2/3 is better, great. But stop whining about how Halo 4 isn’t those games.

People are whining that Halo 4 is not even relatively close to being a Halo game in general. We suggest things that worked well in past titles because…they worked well in past titles. You do not fix something that is not broken. Quite frankly I’m sick of people like you in the Halo community settling for less than they deserve. $60.00 is a good chunk of change to have paid and then be told you have to wait for them to fix the game. I know Halo 2 and 3 had problems right after their releases, but it seems like 343 did not try to learn from those problems AT ALL. For example, they know what playlists people like to play so why are they not there?

I’m kinda tired of this too. If you want Halo: CE so bad, then put the disk in and play Halo: CE. Halo isn’t Call of Duty. It changes every game. That’s why we remember epic moments from every game. I played a few Call of Duty campaigns, and I only remember a few epic moments(mostly from World at War). I remember every Halo level/Game distinctly because they were all different. If you want the same game over and over again, then play Call of Duty. That series is the same game just adding new maps, HUD, and weapons.

You realize how different each of those games you mentioned is from Halo 4 technically, and mechanically? So you even know a damn thing about making a video game, especially on this scale? Do you really think their not gonna be issues. Also, for the playlists thing, no they don’t, and that’s the issue, their finding out which. I hope they do some, but simply because it was popular in Reach, or H3, does not mean it will be popular in H4.

This guy is kinda right, I’ve played Halo since 2 and have a little experience with CE and the game has most definitely evolved. That being said, when I play Halo 4, I know I’m playing Halo. As a matter of fact Halo is probably the only franchise to stay even remotely close to it’s roots and I commend Bungie/343i for that.

Look at SOCOM, the other online giant. If any of you have ever played the original 2, then look at 3 and the PS3 versions. Now that is a complete overhaul of a game that tried fixing what was not broken. Bungie/343i has certainly not made the same mistake that the late Zipper interactive has.

I understand there have been changes, and I’ll admit I loved Halo 2 as much as the next guy/girl, but halo 4 is a fun Halo game especially if you play competitively or to have fun and not to just level up…

Ok I read your post and i respect your decision. But if you’ve already decided to leave the game then there’s no point in being here. All you guys are doing is clugging up the forms with complain threads, and ruining it for people who actually enjoy the game. So no, I will continue to be a smart -Yoink- until i see some improvement.
