Can we cut 343 some slack for the Holidays?

So server issues just hit, and everyone freaks out and yells at 343 to fix it…seriously?

Guys, if I’m not mistaken, Christmas just happened and New Years is two days away, let’s give them their space. They’ve aknowledged Halo 5 issues and have fixed them. Besides, holidays are meant for family time, not, “I’m going to no life a game”.

So if you think they deserve a break can you explain to me why this is the only game having problem with the servers?

You’re kidding…
Black Ops 3 had a problem, Warframe, Destiny, etc.

More games have had server problems around this time, not just Halo.

I don’t understand what this has to do with the dude’s post? He’s stating to give them a break, cause it’s the “holidays”.
I mean hell, they’re probably running minimum staff with people gone and what not, 343i is just a normal workplace like everywhere else.

I’m not no-lifing the game, I just wanted to play for an hour or two last night and only managed to get about three games in before the game stopped working. People just want a working gaming experience. I don’t expect 343 to be gods who can fix every problem at the flip of a switch, but given how historically chaotic the holidays are for games I expected a bit better of a response. It got so bad I went and played GTAV Online without any problems. Destiny had no issues either on my end. People have likely spent a lot of time with friends and family, it isn’t a sin or them having no lives if they want to play a game they have either paid for or got as a present.

If a plumber fitted a new bathroom for you on the 27th of October and suddenly this week your toilet and bath started leaking. Would you seriously think, aww it’s Christmas never mind I’ll wait till the new year.

Given what 343 did with MCC is anyone really surprised. TBH I expect things to go FUBAR at any given moment with 343 at the helm.

Its not a huge deal to me just saying across the board there should be no problem with any servers because the holidays are the same time every year. This is honestly when they should be working after the games that are bought for Christmas are being used. Gonna turn off a lot of people.

I guess I missed the part where we didn’t pay $60 on top of our Xbox Live Gold subscription for a functional service…?

Haha, good luck getting a plumber to come fix it if he has the time off.

There needs to be a fix ASAP. Enough is enough, the past 2 halo games have had terrible connection issues. I am an avid halo fan but if 343i can’t fix our current problem with Halo 5 then I’m done with the franchise.

So the game releases Oct 27th, out for about two months. Those two months, the game runs 99% smoothly. And then the holidays hit, one of the biggest times for gaming traffic, and now every is -Yoinking!- and complaining cause for almost two days the servers are jacked up. Please if you have a solution to 343i’s issues, I’m sure they’d love to hear it.

I honestly can not think of any other trade/job where this excuse would suffice! I should have been a game developer! Not a floor layer who only had Christmas Day and Boxing Day off work because that’s all I could afford! If I messed up a customers job I would fix it asap! Because, believe it or not that is how you keep customers happy! That way they will always return to you because they can can count upon your reliable service!

Bungie left us on the Holidays also it’s not abnormal . People not Robots build these games

After the MCC disaster 343 gets no sympathy from me. I fired it up this morning, got a message saying something about server trouble, went straight to BF4 and had zero trouble with that. If they want to see population drop quickly, let server problems continue. As far as staffing levels, if you make a game that most of the content requires online access, and you know it’s a big Christmas seller, you better be staffed to cover whatever comes up. Most folks get Christmas day off and have been back to work for a few days now. No excuses.

Congratz, you went into a game that probably has less traffic currently because no one bought their family and friends BF4 for Christmas… And it’s not a matter of staffing levels, it’s a matter of fixing technology when it breaks and that my friend doesn’t take fifty hands it takes time.

m8, everyone else is already back to work.

Here we go with another apologetic.

343 has made millions on this game. If I were a parter in a multi-million dollar company I could care less what haters say.

I’m no lifing the game…is that bad?

This argument is invalid, because you do not require Halo 5, or any game, to live.
