Can we back off Bungie

Bungie made the series what we love to this day. CE bungie, h2 bungie, h3 bungie, odst bungie, and then reach. Talking bad about bungie is talking trash about yourself if your a halo fan at all. In some eyes reach is broken. In my eyes its a new game. I don’t like some things about reach but Im not going to say that the developer of the games I have played for the last 10 yrs is bad. They tried to take community feedback from prior games and that is where they came up with reach… I am looking forward to what 343i can come up with. They have fresh minds to the series and can prob come up with something awesome. No matter what if you make a game or change a game you will have haters and people that love it. Just sit back and hope your on the love it side. Bottom line if your a halo fan then your a bungie fan. I am sure people inside 343i are also fans of the games bungie has made so far…( From the mind of a married 27yr old with 2 kids.)

its a new game. thats good. just not a new HALO game.

You have a prob with reach? If so do you thing bungie is a bad developer just for this one game? If so then do you like the other halos they made? My point is not that reach is a good game. MY point is to lay off bungie for the one game

They aren’t a bad developer. They are probably some of the best I can think of. They just should have made reach live up to the quality of the last games.
I love halo 1 2 and 3. Reach just disappointed me. So what have i said that makes you think that i dont like bungie?

Reach provided gamers not just with a new experience but the ability to create our own by offer more costomization to gametypes and map makers. I honestly don’t know how people can be so negative about the games.

Customization is good. the gameplay itself is not so much.
The customization proves that bungie cared, i just dont think bungie stopped to think if adding all these AAs and loadouts were to gameplay changing from original halo.

There’s a very distinct line between a halo fan and a Bungie fan. People who like Halo are Halo fans, whereas people who like Bungie are bungie fans. I like Mass Effect 2. However, does that mean I like Bioware, or an other Bioware games? No.

That being said, people aren’t automatically Bungie fan as soon as they like Halo. Do I like the Halo universe? Yes. But do I like Bungie, who deliberately took a crap on Halo just so they could create their “perfect game”? No. It’s like saying “You like chocolate ice cream, so you obviously like every other flavor ice cream out there.”

I do respect Bungie for creating the Halo universe and trying to keep it alive for the last ten years, but then again they did completely ruin the entire series with Reach. When you ruin everything you worked hard on, you don’t have any credit left.

I’m glad someone finally makes a thread. Bungie is AWESOME (I’m not a fanboy). Every Halo memory you’ve ever had is because of BUNGIE. They made Halo, so really you’re shooting yourself (a Halo fan) in the foot when you say they’re a bad development studio. Reach has its flaws, but it’s still a fun game.

I think that unless you can build a better game than bungie has you shouldn’t bad mouth them.

Everyone has there own opinion on reach… My point is bungie is a good developer. If 1, 2 or 3 was never made there wouldnt be as many people hating reach… Its not the best halo by far. I hate AL myself and I also cannot stand the grenades power either. Just quit hating on a developer for one of there games. Not saying anyone here is but i have seen to many times that bungie is garbage or something along the lines of this posted to many times on both sites. Most of them are little kids yes but its still rather annoying when 99 out of a 100 cannot make a game themselves

How many games out there or movies for that matter have had this many fans for 10 yrs strong? I cannot think of any. Halo needs fresh eyes to keep it going and hopefully 343i can deliver this. The hating on bungie for 1 of there games is just beyond childish. I am not dissing younger people at all. Just the little kids that get pwned in a game and hate on the developer for it… If bungie was a god then you can diss them for not being perfect.

> I think that unless you can build a better game than bungie has you shouldn’t bad mouth them.

That’s not a good argument in the least. So you’re saying that if someone makes a product that we don’t like, we can’t criticize them unless we make something better? That’s ridiculous.

I respect Bungie for creating and maintaining Halo over these past 10 years. However, I do not like what they did with Reach, and how they handled post-launch.

^this. im better than bungie at football, so they cant badmouth me? what if they dont like the way I play football? Like how i throw hailmarys all the time instead of planning out a get set of 4 downs?
Anyone get the metaphor?

No, and I probably should restate that. However, just going on and on about how much you hate things like AL and criticizing doesn’t make you productive. What we should do is brainstorm on different ideas on how to make the game better without making things completely useless.

Haha, yes. Also, let’s use this metaphor:

“You can’t criticize Infinity Ward/Treyarch unless you can make something better than CoD.”

Practice what you preach, boys and girls.

And we have brainstormed over what should be done. You can look up many threads. Heck, one of the most popular opinions is to remove it completely. That’s productive. But since we know AL cannot be removed from Reach, we can make sure that 343i knows how much we hate AL, and don’t want it to surface ever again in Halo 4 or any future titles.

Complain what you dislike, and the first stage is complete. Next, is talking about what you want the game to be like, and we’ve done that too: we want innovation, but we want the core gameplay to be close to the original trilogy.

I love bungie, but they left such a bad taste in my mouth from halo reach. There new game better be a world beater.

Could not have said it better myself. The way bungie handled reach was a complete travesty and disrespect to the halo franchise.

It’s hard for you to prove your argument right when you go criticizing AL users. There can be something bad said about all the AA, but I know that there is alwayse a weakness to them as well an I act on that. Also, I almost never have problems with people in AL, as a matter of fact I’ve used AL to kill people when they use it. And whenever I do use Armor Lock, I see myself die just as much as everyone else I play with.

Bungie is no longer involved with Halo, so as far as I care, they can go bankrupt on their next project. There were too many absolutely stupid decisions they made with Reach that I do indeed question their competence as a studio now, regardless of what they’ve made in the past.

Plus, employees have come and gone from the studio.
