Can we at least get BTB Anniversary back?

Big team games are my favorite game type to play in Halo, but recently, the standard BTB playlist has become polluted with BTB Heavies; a horrendous mess of vehicles, rockets, lasers, and explosions in every direction. Somehow, everyone seems to enjoy it though, meaning that fun game variants like two flag CTF on Hemorrhage often go ignored.

Then, I got CEA, and with it, some of the best maps that are available in Reach. I decided to give BTB Anniversary a try, and I immediately fell in love with the playlist. Why? Because it was fun, balanced, and I wasn’t getting blown up off the spawn like I was on Cragmire or Asphalt. But now it’s gone, meaning that I won’t be able to enjoy the maps, like Timberland, nearly as much.

So, please, can we get this great playlist back? It had a decent population, usually close to Anniversary Classic.

I’m kinda annoyed with Anniversary BTB being removed, but there’s not much you can do. I don’t think 343 has any plans to bring back the playlists they removed in the August Update. You’ll just have to deal with it like the rest of us, unfortunately.

Also, I wouldn’t really consider 2-Flag CTF on Hemorrhage fun. There are fun gametypes in BTB, but that isn’t really one of them.

I know right because I’m sick, tired of seeing those stupid forge maps, love playing btb anniversary since means not forced to play -Yoink- forge maps, over.

Seriously pissed off about it too since was going to have a go, instead noticed they joinked it from the playlists randomly when it was one my favourite playlists. I they trying to alienate their fans?

More than just a little pissed here. Anniversary BTB was about the only playlist I play. And it had a pretty healthy population too. What gives?

Agreed I want answers, heads should roll for this smeg up. Sorry but I have paid for every single dlc, bought every halo game, every bloody book, I have all the halo ports so yes I would like to ask why they took off the dlc playlist!

The population was low, it was removed.

Please say your kidding right? I paid for dlc, this completly alienates anyone who has the halo cea disc, not reach.

If they want people to buy ‘their’ dlc then they should give us back our dlc multiplayer maps playlist or completly remove forge maps. The btb playlist was not that low, I played it regularly, even playlists like swat, mlg playlist had less than the btb playlist.

> The population was low, it was removed.

You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

It maintained a higher population than MLG, yet they keep that boring playlist.

Whatever. Guess I’ll be going back to Halo 3.

Completly agree. I play btb frequently while I never once bothered with mlg, somehow mlg is still there which is stupid.

Agreed and I understand that we should just “deal” with it but seriously I dont have the reach disk and just have anniversary and BTB was the only thing I played besides FFA. But now when I was about to get on I’m pretty pissed there went my Halo playing and now I’m very much unsure about Halo 4 and the stupid update bull! Looks like they are gonna lose people way to go!!!
That And I also think it is being ridiculous that you CANT play the reach DLC (even if you have it) on the anniversary disk its just stupid, looks like Halo now sucks -Yoink!-. So much a good run. ~Nyx

At times it seems like you get a reply from 343I on Twitter than on the forums.

You probably have a bad luck with the people you play with buddy, we never get Heavies which is great but then again we always have 6 to 8 ppl on our team, as for the Anniversary Maps, i dont see us getting any of them in the normal BTB playlist which is just stupid

so many people have wasted there money downloading those maps

That should teach us halo fans a lesson, to quit while it’s time… certainly this won’t be the first time they’ll do this.

I’d like to see an all objective playlist with just flag and bomb gametypes, none of this slayer crap, like there was in Halo 3 before it disappeared, because some of us like objective games
Im getting very bored of all these slayer gametypes littering everywhere especially in BTB playlists, its just so repetitive. How people find it fun is beyond me

I hope for and objective playlist in Halo 4, though I highly doubt there will be :frowning:
And its a shame about the dlc maps not being used, 343 made them a waste of money

None of it will happen I know, but Ill just throw it out there x]

Was the basically the only playlist i played too, breakneck is my favourite map. Standard BTB is just banshee, wraith, tank, sniper, rockets and laser.
And agree with people about the forge maps and game types. All i seem to play is BTB Heavies on hemorrhage or some other forge map, and Graveyard or Spire, which, since the beginning of time, i have not liked. Keep them to invasion.

Also have PAID for the anniversary maps, seems a bit -Yoink- if you can’t even play half of them online anymore!

Halo 4 DLC best be free if they’re going to pull -Yoink- like this again…

If MLG was removed 343i would never hear the end of it. They understand that removing MLG will lose THOUSANDS of Halo fans. Even though the population was lower than anniversary BTB.

and i say this from a competitive standpoint.

I don’t think ABTB should come back, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. It was redundant and would need to be removed at some point anyway.

I am however in favor of making BTB be DLC-required, as most of the DLC is best suited to big team. Not gonna kick and scream if it doesn’t happen, but I think people would have an easier time arguing in favor of this as opposed to arguing for the return of playlists that were removed because of redundancy and/or low populations.

You’re comparing apples and oranges here. MLG has its own following. There aren’t entire communities built around the playlists that were removed with this update.

MLG is not just for us competitive kids. It’s for anybody that prefers Zero-Bloom to -Yoink- vanilla settings. MLG has removed Halo from the circuit because Reach didn’t support a large enough attendance.

Since I’m from the UK i have EGL and social LANs that i could attend but if the playlist retires…

Oh and Bigteambattle.net is a prime source for BTB enthusiasts. That playlists population was based mainly around that community from what i could see. Not quite an outroar though.

Only proving my point for me. MLG has a huge following on which entire communities are built and sustained. The playlists that were removed did not.

I fail to see how this is relevant. BTB was not removed. The BTB population doesn’t revolve around that site at all. In fact, you could argue that the pop is less because of BTBnet - it uses completely different setting and maps, and most of the btbnet community spends more time in customs playing their own settings than they do matchmaking.

Do you see the people of BTBnet coming here kicking and screaming about the removal of ABTB?
