If I gave one of my employees a 1-year extension on a project, and after the year they delivered a product that was incomplete and failed to incorporate (reasonably unanimous) feedback from testers, I wouldn’t just excuse it and say, “At least they’re trying.”
I’d let them know they did a bad job.
That’s what the community is doing.
343 did a bad job, and they deserve to hear so.
This. I don’t get why game developers are exempt from criticism of their work. As a software developer I’d be embarrassed if one of our projects released like this.
343 has been in charge of halo longer than bungie was now. They should know how to create a complete game that their fans want. If they want to look at new methods of monotization, there’s a hundred other games that do it better to look at for inspiration, and to see what not to do.
They have tried and they did a really good job. And then they shot them selfs in the foot
It hadn’t occurred to me that 343 has been in charge of Halo longer than Bungie. Wow.
That’s just sad.
I think what they are trying to do, is stretch every last piece of content out as far as it will go because they just don’t have much. I can’t see Microsoft telling them they can’t add specific Playlists in their game. That was a 343 decision, and I have to believe that it’s because they want to control that flow of content.
So no, I don’t think they are trying to do anything for the player base.
Yea, absolutely not. Just found out that were restricted to two teams in custom games due to the outline system which of course, exists for monetization.
This game is the most restrictive “Halo” title and it’s clear at every corner this is a cash grab.
How else can you justify a 6 year development for a game to come out with less than 20% of what previous titles had to offer.
But hey, the shop works FLAWLESSLY.
I appreciate that 343 has made a Halo game with great core gameplay for the first time since 2007.
I don’t see them trying very hard to answer community feedback at the moment, though.
