(Side note: while writing this just noticed that the second paragraph was an unplanned rant and doesn’t completely have to do with the topic but I had to let it out)
I’ve noticed that for a very long time (ever since Bungie left and 343i took over to be exact) we as a community gave less and less constructive criticism towards 343i over the years. Now with Halo 5 it seems that there is no such thing as constructive criticism. But why? Why we as a community lost this ability? What happened? All we do now is whine, complain just for the sake of complaining, insult at each other, attack one another, and just send hate towards 343i (death threats over a broken launch or a badly written campaign? Really?) It baffles me what this community has turned into. I don’t know if you noticed, but we aren’t helping 343i!!! They are probably confused right now as to what exactly we want.
Also,WE OVER -Yoinking!- EXAGGERATE!!! Is halo 4 a franchise killer/bad halo game? NO! In fact it has one of the best written campaign in the franchise and it’s fun to play through. Is halo 5 a franchise killer/bad halo game? HELL NO!!! It has the best gameplay in the series (albeit with some improvements needed), it brought competitive halo back, and it has one of the best forge ever (albeit two months late). Yes, halo 4’s multiplayer is not halo. Yes halo 5’s campaign was a HUGE disappointment and the lack of content is not a great thing BUT THEY AREN’T BAD HALO GAMES!!!
We, as a community, as people, need to start learning how to give constructive criticism so that we can make halo great again. You think 343i is running halo? More like the community and I’m ashamed at the community and at myself because I don’t try hard enough to help out and I sometimes fall into this category. Just answer this question, what the hell happened? I thought that everything would get better with the community after MCC, but I guess I was wrong.

I’m going to get this out of the way, and say that I’m fairly certain that this is almost all opinion based. Not that I disagree.
Many people do give legitimate criticism. The problem is that those that don’t, complain the loudest, and everyone sees it.

I said that the second paragraph was actually an unplanned rant so of course it an opinion. I have seen some constructive criticism (very little but I’ve seen it). The only people I know that give criticism outside of the forums is Act Man, LNG, and Favyn. I just want the good side of the community back you know

This is true they have done amazing things for Halo and i’m very grateful for what 343i has done for the series. Yes there are some problems, but you can’t please every single person there is always going to be something that someone doesn’t like. I do agree Halo 4 has one of the best campaigns and i have said on many post Halo 4 has the best audio ever. Also Halo 5 gameplay is fantastic so fun. I’m very excited for Halo wars 2 and Halo 6, so keep up the hard work 343i.
The only correct answer to this is the same it is every time this topic comes up.

Nothing. Nothing happened. This community is not any less constructive than it was three years ago, or six years ago, or nine years ago. And this has never had anything with the community being exceptionally bad or anything, but it is a simple result of how the open internet works. Anyone can share their opinions, no matter how well thought out and structured they are or aren’t. Combine this with the fact that it’s easy to make yourself disproportionally dissatisfied about anything if you pore over it long enough, and you find that most criticism you find on the internet is blown out of proportion and not well structured. And that’s just how it is.
I always find this problem that there’s nothing more here to discuss. You can do your part by promoting what you think is well made criticism, and ignoring what you don’t think is well made. But beyond that: some people are good at giving criticism, and some people are not so good at giving criticism. That’s how it has always been, that’s how it is, and that’s how it will always be. Complaining about this will not help. It just makes everyone feel worse.
If you find some good reason why there is anything more to discuss here than this, send me a message. Meanwhile, I’ll just lock this as I always do with these, because I still fail to find anything worth discussing in these threads.
