I just wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Kazuma Jinnouchi, the composer on Halo 5 who’s been doing a fantastic job. The music in the Beta is the perfect blend of Marty’s classic, majestic scores and Neil Davidge’s electronic brilliance, and I’ve not seen any appreciation as yet - so thank you.
I like it but it sounds nothing like Marty or Neil Davidge.
It sounds more like a movie soundtrack from the 90s. Specifically Star Trek: First Contact.
Sounds fantastic, the menu music is better than Halo 4’s. But Halo 4 was still amazing, “Green and Blue” is probably the best track of the entire series.
You probably haven’t heard any appreciation on it because people don’t like it. The song on the main menu sounds like a WW2 documentary.
It’s definitely not my favorite Halo music, but it was well done.
Sorry, can’t agree. Not a fan of the new music.
The death music sounds like some high school kid making weird frog noises to annoy his teacher…
Main menu music is also pretty bland. DAAA DAAA DAAAAAAA…DUH DUH DUHHHHHHH…

And the original Halo theme sounded like a medieval fantasy game. When its good, its good.
I heard no resemblance to either Marty or Neil’s work. I agree that it sounds like an old movie soundtrack. Not a fan, but we’ll see.

That’s one of the more unusual complaints I’ve heard about anything…
But I will agree that the main menu music is lacking, hopefully it’s just for the beta.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting all this hate for the music… It definitely uses themes and textures from both Marty and Neil’s work, maybe you have to be a musician to hear them - I’m not sure! I love it though, Jinnouchi composed some of my favourite pieces from Halo 4 as well so I’m looking forward to where he goes with 5.

I like what I’m hearing so far. I still have Marty as #1 though
I really don’t like it. To me, it sounds nothing like Halo. I have nothing against Jinnouchi, but I must admit to missing Marty. Halo CE-Reach (including Wars, even though that was Stephen Rippy) had my favourite soundtracks ever, and that isn’t limited to games.
Still, I’ll wait til the full game to judge the music properly.
Well we don’t all agree. I don’t like it FOR HALO.
It sounds more like a WW2 movie soundtrack or something. Not particularly memorable, not futuristic sounding either.
Why can’t we just have the -Yoinking!- halo theme. Is that much to ask? The HALO theme on a HALO game? It’s laughable that they don’t include it. Pathetic

I’m a musician and I don’t think Halo 5s music is anywhere near as good as you are claiming and hyping it up to be. It’s bland; average at best.
But I’m sure Jinnouchi will create some good themes. 117 had a Halo sound to it. We need more themes like that.
I like the music, sounds mysterious.
