Of course we still can.

I think it was something picking up grenades from downed enemies that we couldn’t pick up without that spice-up.

Yes you can still pick up weapon ammo from dead bodies , you can pick up any weapon that is on map , as for the grenades , you can only pick up those that are on map (like in the older Halo games) , but you can only pick up dead bodies’ nades if you have the Ressuply armor mod, as far as I know , it’s a way to prevent grenade spamming (which was a huge problem in Halo Reach).

Well if that’s what you want , there’s Halo 3 and Halo Reach that are still active.
Also don’t worry , I am sure they will give options to disable that kind of stuff and
if I remember they did say we will have a ‘‘Classic’’ Playlist or something like that…
