That’s the problem when communities don’t care what other people have to say, they only care about their opinions and what they want.
It’s not much of a community at that point.

The only real thing you can do is make sure they don’t bring your mood down. Misery loves company.

Preach. The community needs to acknowledge successes and not just criticize. Both are important. And if your really so upset with the state of the game leave some feedback and maybe take a break

Please fix the new bugs introduced. Please add back in jumps that were removed - if anything you should be adding more not taking them away. Please fix challenges like rumble out and last spartan standing not progressing challenges.
Instead of the silly increase in melee trading - please severely decrease lung distance to not encourage people to just try and trade with melee - the crutch of a large portion of this community. Melee trading is bad. Increase in melee trading was added purely because they still can’t fix desync adequately.
But really, there’s dozens of lists of useful suggestions of things that need fixed or added. Me restating them really doesn’t do anything. Pretty sure 343 has seen them at this point.

Here’s something constructive, how about when i die in this dumpster fire mode and the game tells me i can back out and still get credit after the game ends I and hear me out here actually get credit for the challenges i’ve made progress towrds
As a Gen Z, it really isn’t, some people give feedback and while I agree some come off harsh but it’s mostly just fed up fans

Expect a clean community when they actually fix their game. What do you expect this board to consist of when this game, that’s been out for 6+ months and virtually in the same.playanle state since July, is lacking crucial content, has terribly buggy UI, inconsistent and trash form of XP progression (challenges ******* suck), terrible desync and rubber banding many players only experience with infinite, and a store that immediately sold battle pass armor that should have been in the pass but was instead sold separately? There are.much better games out there that actually respect the player and this isn’t one of them. It’s insane you expect us to treat 343 with respect when it’s clear they don’t value their customer.
If they produce a good game that isn’t broken and lacking content then people won’t have reason to complain. The state of this game is embarrassing and its important that we voice our concerns

I suppose the only thing worse than abundant feedback is no feedback at all. Which is what you get with a dead game.
It’s the hyperbole that wears me down.
The game isn’t “broken”. There isn’t “no content”. And the challenges aren’t “THAT bad”.
And so on.
Sure, there’s a way to go.
And constructive criticism / discussion is important. But it’s hard to give a -yoink- when every complaint is buried under a mountain of histrionic threats to uninstall. At some stage they just become a parody of themselves.
I shouldn’t be sitting here wishing that you will actually do. And just go away…
After some earlier threads today I actually went and bought a whole heap of credits to support 343. A bit of retail therapy. Just don’t tell my wife.

Every gaming forum I’ve ever posted on is the same. Constant complaints, every Halo game has been the same. Even Bungie’s last effort was lampooned constantly.
People asking another company to take over because Reach wasn’t a real Halo game. Armour Lock drama. Fall damage and health packs are a bad idea, Halo 2 and 3 got it right. Bad maps. Forge being worse than Halo 3 even though it was better (it was just grey). Ranked being changed.
People hate change and they hate those that bring it they don’t adapt and they don’t move on. I like the forums especially the vibes of other Halo fans being excited but this place is half and half. You’ve got some great users and you’ve got some awful ones. They probably think the same of me. How dare he be positive. I just mute people I don’t like or ignore users I don’t want to see replies from.

Here is my constructive criticism:
Team slayer BRs - We already had a playlist for BR starts, ranked. BR starts is not classic halo gameplay, it is a competitive variant, and now there is no playlist that has exclusively classic halo slayer. I for one find that to be a poor decision
Behemoth in team slayer BRs - please remove behemoth from team slayer BRs. Feedback in season 1 was abundantly clear that combination leads to bad gameplay, so why has it been introduced to social in season 2?
Last Spartan Standing - Camo, Camo, Overshield. They are everywhere. These should be in the centre of the map, it should be a risk to try and get one. As it is you can get two just on the outskirts of the map without barely moving
Last Spartan Standing - The games I have played have had a serious element of camping due to the combination of the game mode type encouraging it, and the lack of a radar. At least give some other way of identifying if campers are hiding. One option could be everyone spawns with a threat sensor.
Last Spartan Standing - Weapon rotations feel a bit odd to me. I really think these need a rethink. Spawning people with the mangler and shotgun in the space of a couple of levels is also encouraging camping.
BR dead zone - random stops in firing BR in season 2. Brand new issue, hopefully can be rectified asap
Ping - My ping in LSS has gone through the roof. On a hardwired 1GB/second connection I am used to 9-15 ping with spikes here and there. I’m now getting lowest 75 in LSS and highs of 150+
Challenges - I am not enjoying LSS anyway, but adding a whole bunch more playlist specific challenges has caused far more aggravation. I play halo every day nearly, I should be able to get all the weekly’s without being forced in to a playlist I don’t like.
Melee Challenges - Three of my challenges so far have been melee focussed - why? Again, encourages camping
Mangler - the nerf has ruined it. Nobody will pick this weapon up anymore. Please put it back to the way it was and remove it from HCS if you need
Sliding - not sure why changes were made to sliding. It took a good deal of skill and timing, nobody was complaining
That’s it so far, and I’ve only played 90 mins or so of season 2 so I’m sure there will be more

The problem with all these community boards is that its just the community talking. With no feeling like either the positive or negative things are being read by the 343 team it just makes the members of the forums more polarised.
Team Positive - people that are happy with elements of the game and feel like people keeping tearing down the elements of the game that you are enjoying. You defend the elements of the game that are good. People continue to trash these elements anyway… You start to defend every aspect of the game beyond all logic and reasoning.
Team Negative - people who are so sick of having the same criticisms that go ignored… You try to deliver the criticisms in a constructive manner. It is ignored by 343 and in general people will tell you that you are the only one that has a problem or think it’s an issue. You start to trash all aspects of the game beyond all logic and reasoning.
The fix?.. 343 needs to start sharing in the forums or newsletters on feedback that they are listening to and the popular feedback that they are actively choosing to ignore and why they are continuing down a certain path.
These forums are so toxic because the topics are all recycled topics that read the same as they did 5 months ago… same complaints same defenses aim assist = bad… aim assist = too low
Example server selection… Where is this feature. Is it coming? Countless forum entries on this issue. I for one won’t play this game again until this is implemented or something similar is. It simply is not fun playing the game on a 150ms+ connection.
Meanwhile other patches are done quickly… Blocking geo-filtering. I have never actually done geo-filtering as I don’t have a suitable router but it infuriates me that they implemented this very quickly and have still left the server selection features off the list.
So yeah consider me polarised in the negative territory.
The point of peer-to-peer forums like this is so that we talk to each other and reduce the number of times we reach out to them.
I come here to see if there’s an issue before I think about logging a bug.
We’re basically just deflecting cases. No part of me thinks or expects anyone from 343 to monitor these boards on a regular basis - especially devs.
This assessment of the purpose of the forums makes sense to me as well. And it is indeed the reason in which I first came onto the forums.
But unfortunately it makes 80%+ of the activity on these forums redundant if 343 truly does not digest the discussions on these forums.
