Well the thing is-people who have calculated the BR’s kill time end up with different results. E.G
One person claimed it was 1.82 seconds
Another claimed it was 1.68
Another said 1.72
So I can’t really trust it anymore.
EDIT: If a 4SK BR is OP, and the 5SK is UP, I’d rather have one UP weapon in the sandbox than a “One gun rules them all” rifle.
why should it be 4sk? 4sk BR could destroy the weapon sandbox.

Only if it will balance against all the other weapons in the game…As far as I am concerned, I’m fine with the BR being a 5sk.
It’s all up to 343i. Although the fans want it a 4sk, if it doesn’t balance the game, then it stays as-is. Be patient until you play the game for a while (not like 1 game then rant), then if you believe that it is still underpowered through testing (Custom Games to test), then you may rant upon the issue at hand.

Seriously though, 5sk is fine by me. I am just happy to be getting another Halo game, with a new story and a new developing team, who are very talented and have more juice in the tank than Bungie when it comes to creativity. (No offense to Bungie, considering they birthed this series, (the best series ever :), but you can tell they were losing it after Halo 3).
I am also happy that the BR is back. So whatever I can care less how many shots it takes until it kills someone. I will find you, and I will kill you. Have a nice day.

Saying please, to suit your needs isn’t going to make anything happen. 343i are doing what’s best for the game, not you. So let it go. If it gets buffed to 4sk, it will happen regardless, without this unnecessary thread.

One can hope so. The Waypoint community has probably made a few by now…
Seriously. 4 shot is the staple of the BR. That is pretty much the thing that really changed going from it to the DMR.
There’s no reason it shouldn’t be. I don’t care if they decrease the Fire Rate so it balances better with the other weapons. Just let it kill in 4 shots so it actually FEELS like a BR.

But I’m starting to doubt beliefs due to different results from analysing the kill times.

- I don’t really have the technology and programming to do that and 2. I’m afraid that it will be a mis-calculation (Because I kinda suck like that).

Exactly this. 343 is not bungie. 343 has cortana web and all the data they need to balance the primary weapons. Considering that the BR has the ROF of the halo 2 BR im ok with it being a 5 shot. People underestimate how fast it fires. when they hear 5 shot they think of the halo 3 BR’s ROF and say “NO THATS TOO SLOW” But seriously think of the halo 2 br with one extra shot thats still a REALLY fast kill if your good.
Dont buy into all the hype that the BR is crippled against the carbine and the dmr. Why would 343 ruin one of the most popular weapons in halo history? its bad for business.

The DMR fires faster, and so does the Carbine.

Not really it can have the same kill relative kill time as DMR and Carbine while being a 4 shot kill with a slower fire rate
