Its really annoying to get 4-5x Slayer instead of Slayer DMR as option in team slayer.
You either get a crap game type ‘slayer’ or you get that one option of slayer DMRs on a map like think twice (any decent player hates that map)
I’m not saying DMR start have to be dominant in slayer but a 50/50 on the voting would be nice.
That or just make the default loadout for slayer have AR and DMR, that just makes everyone happy and will allow people to vote for the map that they want and not have to choose between a game type or a map.
Would have to politely disagree. Making the DMR a pickup increases the chance that the person who seeks it out will actually put it to good use, rather than the spam fest with DMR starts.
To many guests, i dont have a problem with guest but i dont like to have 2 guests on my team who are playing 3 way split screen.
And i usually search in 2s in TS.
Making the DMR a pick up just means i have to go look for one or move out of my way to get one.
Ar starts also just promote the use of power weapons more, a decent DMR’r can take out a sniper on long range, a sword guy rushing him and assist his team mates better on mid range.
AR is pure CQC which usually ends in a beatdown, cant help your team mates with it cuz you have more chance of hitting them instead.

I wish I had your luck. The majority of gametypes I have to vote on, in any playlist, are all DMR spawn ones. My friends and I might be lucky enough to find one out of six AR/Mag spawn matches in Team Slayer or Squad Slayer to vote on. Since I mainly only roll in a full team, we can rock the vote and play the gametype we desire. Sometimes, though, that’s not enough…
I do like the 50/50 split idea, but it might be better to have it 40/40/20. This would allow for other variants aside from the two main proponents. The best solution, however, may be the reintroduction of a somewhat static voting schema. There is a thread I need to go dig up about that concept. If you remember how the Arena was setup in the Beta, you might have an idea of what I’m talking about. I’ll see what I can find this weekend.
As for your comment on combining AR/Mag and DMR/Mag gametypes into one, I object (insert Phoenix Wright here)! Both gametypes, although similar, are completely unique. They provide all gamers different atmospheres to participate in the gameplay associated with them. Have a look at page 9 of this thread, for details (Arena and Tactical Gameplay). Perhaps, that will help explain some items for you. Have a good one!

DMR starts - 8
Elite Slayer - 2
(Note these are not the games that WON the voting, just the possible options I encountered while playing TS)

That sounds right to me. Like DMR starts? Play Arena.

How does that make it more even? If anything it’s exactly the same as DMR starts, but it creates more potential issues. It makes it so if one team has a couple DMR’s and you die, you respawn without the ability to defend yourself, running around like a chicken with your head cut off until you find one.
DMR starts/ BR starts are much more even in slayer.
Considering how versatile and over-powered the DMR is I can understand why people like Slayer.
What little enjoyment there is to be had from this game comes when wielding a DMR/pistol personally. The Sniper and other power weapons/vehicles are too easy to use and just feel cheap which means kills with them aren’t satisfying.

What enjoyment is there spawning with a weapon useless outside close range?
How about, for H4 obviously, we get a map THEN gametype voting system. While I’m all for having players use a bit of variety, the current system forces us to choose gametypes or maps. Now we either get crap maps, or crap gametypes.

Thats a sorry excuse, Arena isn’t team slayer.
First of all the population is horrible, leaving me as a European to get stuck with alot Americans and that cause lag.
Not alot of lag, but enough to notice when you are in a DMR duel.
Second, lack of armor abilities.
Third, if they can put DMR/AR start in Arena which is suppose to be the competitive play list, why cant they do so for regular slayer?

100% agreed with this, pistol wont win from a DMR, even if you pop his shields first, he will take you down while you wait for the bloom to reset to get a headshot.
And everyone thats saying that the AR takes more skill…
Ok, good for you, but i like DMR’s and i’m just asking for a more fair voting choice.

I can 100% guarantee that no one shoots differently in AR starts as opposed to DMR starts. In AR starts I sometimes try harder to stay alive when I find the 1 DMR on the map that isn’t in respawn, but I’m already trying pretty hard so it really doesn’t change anything. All it does is turn the game into ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-Melee, Crouch, Grenade, Grenade, Melee, Shotgun, Crouch,Sword, Melee, Grenade, ARRRRRRRRRRR, Pistol Spam, Melee, Crouch.
DMR starts promotes map movement and skill. Regardless, 50/50 would be nice. or AT LEAST put more than 2 DMR’s on maps like Aslyum and Reflection. Power Weapons are unstoppable when you have an AR and a Pistol. At least with a DMR you have a fighting chance.
And anyone who is saying the AR takes ANY skill at all: go in a custom game with a guest, with AR starts, And be within distance for your reticule to be red. Now, Take your reticule 95% of your opponent so that they are just barely inside of it and the reticule is still red. Now hold the trigger down. Notice how every one of your bullets hits? no. skill. period.
Better idea. How about they just make another playlist consisting of long-range starter weapons, such as the DMR and NR, and in some cases, the magnum? That way, AR preferring players will not be put out of place and DMR preferring people will have a slayer playlist dedicated to them.
Always look for a fair and equal alternative, they’re not only more likely to happen, but they’re better for everyone!

Unfortunatly people have been asking for such a playlist since halo 3 already with ‘BR only starts’ and Bungie never wanted to give it because they knew it would leave the AR playlist dead and desserted.
I would honestly prefer this too, but knowing the chances of something like that i doubt its going to happen.
Tweaking AR/DMR starts in the current playlist seems more realistic, but one can only hope.
