So for the past 3 weeks, I’ve been searching games on Halo 5 warzone and I literally cannot find a game. I tried searching solo for 3 hours yesterday and still no match. It’s not that there wasn’t anyone playing at the time. My friends were finding games quickly without any problems.
The only way I can find warzone games these days is if I have atleast 1 more player in my fireteam. I know my connection is fine as I can play multiplayer on other games (Even the social playlists and arena work fine).
Its getting really frustrating because I can see a lot of my friends ‘warzone: matching’ and yet if I’m searching at the same time I don’t match them! I don’t get why most of their lobbies have just 12/24 players and YET I can’t join these half filled games? I mean clearly those games have more than enough spots for me to join right?
I don’t know why this is happening but I hope I’m not ‘region locked’. (Something that happened to me on MCC a couple of years ago). Do people from NA and EU just have it easier while matching games? (I’m playing from India).
Does this have anything to do with my MMR? (Which I imagine is quite average)
I just wanna play some warzone man ;-; Can someone please clarify what’s going on here and help improve/fix matchmaking for warzone? I’d really appreciate it as I love this game mode.

No, it’s not MMR, and you’re not region locked. Basically, you’re tied to the southeastasia datacenter (SEA DC). So whenever there are just barely enough players to play (12) that are waiting for the SEA DC, it will have you wait for them because you will have super low ping in those situations. Sometimes, though, you end up missing the boat and the match fills before you get there.
The wait times are often near 5 minutes, which is when it will time out. So you are often right on the border of getting a low ping match.
