Can Squad Slayer get Objective?

It kind of gets bland with Slayer over and over again.

"Can Squad Slayer Get Objective?"

Something seems to be out of place with this question…

Team Slayer should be the playlist with default maps so 4 guests per console makes sense, and Squad should get Slayer and Objective as well as community maps.

It can be called Squad Battle then? :stuck_out_tongue:

> Team Slayer should be the playlist with default maps so 4 guests per console makes sense, and Squad should get Slayer and Objective as well as community maps.

Don’t bother… wait til after the forums get updated.

Its extremely futile at this point.

> It kind of gets bland with Slayer over and over again.

What’s the point if people are going to be farming kills in objective anyway?

Right…
I miss Optimatch, and I keep making all of these constructive posts as a result.

Please no community maps in regular playlists. I’d rather have Community Slayer, Objective, and BTB playlists instead to go along with the regular Reach and TU playlists.

That’s unlikely to happen. “My” suggestion is much more plausible. (quotes indicate that it isn’t actually my idea, and that the original stemmed from Overkill back in the Optimatch days).

It’s just like Optimatch though… They don’t want Objectives in their Slayer only playlists, and it’s sad that they don’t offer any real discussion as to why it shouldn’t be added…

I recall that we had actual movements (not mass petition spamming) with each update. Discussions and supported ideas were worth more.

Was there really more people for it, or was it just the people from the Classic thread that kept on posting? It’s too bad that they didn’t make Optimatch Read-Only so people could still use the stuff from it, I just hope that the forums get settled out here and we stop seeing petitions…

i’d like to see objective gametypes in squad battle.

more than that, however, i’d like to see the REMOVAL OF JET PACK.

I think that we have two playlists each of slayer and objective.

Team slayer is 3-4 players. Squad Slayer is 5 players. So that gives two playlists of slayer, one small and one “large.”

Objective has Team Objective which is 3-4 players. Big Team Battle is mostly objective gametypes, with a smattering of slayer and is 7-8 players. So that’s one small and one large objective gametype?

The question is: Does adding objective gametypes to squad slayer add anything?

I’m not sure it really would. You can get a small objective battle in TO, or a large team objective battle in BTB. Plus Squad would have to change its name to Squad Battle. I’d actually rather see Squad Slayer increased to 8 players than see it turned into a third objective playlist. In, addition, the Team Objective playlist hardly ever has anyone in it which is why I don’t play it. I go to BTB because you can get objective gametypes and the population is significant. Why have a third objective playlist if you can’t fill two?

Squad = Community Maps, Team Slayer and Objective = Default maps; = less playlists with community maps all together.

I’ll just copy and past for the fun of it. It will get overlooked and people will fail to see the logic behind it… oh well.

> There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to have another slayer playlist with only 2 more players. Squad Slayer would then become Squad Battle and it should house Slayer, Assault, and CTF only. With a high weight on slayer and Flag Slayer being featured, the slaytards should have no reason to complain. Have only Multi Flag and Speed Flag for CTF and Neutral Bomb and Multi Bomb for Assault. Remove all the one sided gametypes since they are never any fun and result in a very high ammount of DNFs.
>
> Doing this will allow for players to greatly enjoy their 5v5 experience as well as giving life to objective gametypes all together. Just like in Halo 3 one offering is of 4v4 and to be more competitive(or ranked) and the other is more social. Instead of making a “social” Team Objective all together just add the good gametypes to Squad.
>
> I will also use this time to request a Bomb Slayer gametype simply to appease the slaytards as this was surely done with Flag Slayer. Once this one is introduced it should replace Neutral Bomb in the gametype rotation for Squad Battle.
>
> SQUAD BATTLE
> Slayer
> Flag Slayer

> While Squad is meant not to feature any community maps if the rules were changed and Squad were to feature them while Slayer doesn’t then Squad will ultimately be able to house more maps in its rotation. Take Wayont for example; it surely doesn’t work for 4v4 as it is too big but 5v5 is ideal. As a result the less competitive playlist, Team Slayer(due to Armor Lock), will be changed to allows guests and only played on default maps. The fact of the matter is that the more competitive gametype draws in more fullscreen players so why have everything backwards?

Knowing Jeremiah this will not even be read let alone implemented despite it solving MANY of matchmaking’s issues(Trim Playlists(inversely), Ranked Social Structure, Community Map Implementation).
>
> For those of you that have read all of this I congratulate you b/c you have come out of this being more knowledgeable on matchmaking, objective gametypes, the redundancy of multiple slayer only playlists, the problems faced getting people to like objective, how to correctly balance multiple aspects like competition, gametypes, demographic player appeal, and populating less popular playlists by making them social while offering the competitive players a better playlist.

If you read the logical reasoning behind making Squad slayer not support 4 player split screen as well as the entire Ranked/Social structure paper then it all fits together perfectly.

Once the forums are updated I will make a master post with all of these things combined in one thread.

I would like to see them add objective into it, but only if they change the credit payout or another suitable solution to encourage actually going for the objective, rather than farming kills.

Just go play Team Objective. Squad Slayer’s purpose is basically to be like H3’s Social Slayer and will probably remain DLC-free once other mainstream playlists become DLC-required.

> Just go play Team Objective. Squad Slayer’s purpose is basically to be like H3’s Social Slayer and will probably remain DLC-free once other mainstream playlists become DLC-required.

Let the 2 4v4 playlists (Team Slayer and Team Objective) be the social ones since 4 player split screen compliments the team size. AL being featured in it instantly caters to the “noobs” whereas Squad does not and therefor attracts the more competitive players that do not play on more than 2 player split screen. The fact that most community maps play better on 5v5 further compliments the idea of squad featuring the community maps as well as only being able to support 2 player split screen.

Halo Reach is a non traditional Halo game and as such the playlist and gametypes should be treated in the same way.

4v4= social
5v5= competitive

This will also provide and opportunity to make Team Objective house the gimicky gametypes like Headhunter, Hot Potato, and give Stockpile a permanent home.

Objective is better with 5v5 and with maps like Affinity and Wayont (maps of 10 players or more).
