Hey everyone
Is it just me that would rather wait a tiny bit longer for a match than being thrown into one that’s nearly finished? I see this mentioned in regard to Warzone but never Arena. I feel like this problem is getting worse as times goes on, this is happening far too often and I’m sick of having a loss stat against my name just because this stupid game decided to put me in a match for 10 seconds. Why couldn’t the game tell this match was about to end?
The enemy had clearly captured both flags in under 3 minutes, and had the other in their hand, yet still it added me.
Please for the love of god fix this, I don’t know how many more times this needs to happen before I just give up on this game altogether. As if having social and ranked stats being the same isn’t illogical enough, your info is skewed even more by this ridiculous carry on. PLEASE FIX IT

I think that is something to do with that the game can put players in an active match if there is an open spot.
I think this problem should get solved if you limit the amount of lobbies you can get put in in the menu where you select playlists.
Which of these do you have set, expanded or something else in the playlist selection menu?

Yeah that’s exactly what it is, and its even more annoying because usually the reason there’s free slots is because people are rage quitting against a far superior team. Maddening.
I always use balanced, I never take it off that. Where I live, if I put it on focused I might as well not bother searching for a game because it will never find one in any playlist, and with expanded the connection quality is always awful!

I do play on expanded and I haven’t got any problems with lag so far.

What about overtime if the team rations meet standard requirements?

The worst joining was in the action sack playlist when I joined less than 1 second before a match did end.

At least you didn’t join in the middle of a defeat animation.

I think I won that game, not 100% sure. But it was when the game did end. I think I had a jackpot boost active which meant I didn’t lose anything.
It gets so annoying when this happens. Once, I joined a game 5 seconds before it ended.

That is why there should be a bigger penalty for quitting frequently like 1 hour suspension from matchmaking if you quit like 3 times amount of times within 3 hours.
This post… Exactly how I feel. That has happened to me several times. I get join in progress games happen… And sometimes it’s cool because players have turned around a losing game to a win.
But with like 10 seconds left, what’s the point??
There should be an option to turn JIP off.

Well, here’s the thing. The community was asking for it way back in Halo 3, if not sooner if I recall correctly, and we finally got it.
The matchmaking process of JIP just needs to know when a game is too close to ending, or if there’s a team dominating the other one. Cause let’s be honest, no one wants to join those types of games. It would be a great feature to see added in Halo 6. I would think it’s too late in Halo 5’s life to implement something like that.
Ultimately, I think the JIP was just mainly implemented so friends could join friends.
Or, we could have a option in our Matchmaking preferences to be able to join a game in progress, or not.
I only have this problem in Action Sack. I have never joined a bad game in Warzone or Arena, usually at the beginning where I could be useful to the team.
sometimes in grifball ill join a game right when my team loses or wins. its so annoying

The community action sack playlist do usually have very short matched which means that the probability you join at the end of the match are higher.

I think that is harder than you think. The will be a lot of “if” conditions and it would still not be effective. The best way would be able to turn off joining matches in progress option.
