Can someone remind me why Jet Pack is in?

What purpose does it serve other than breaking maps and irritating people?

None.
I’m very unhappy about it’s return in MP.

I dunno, too early to say. Let us see it.

Lets just wait it out, we’re bound to see JP or hear more from it sooner or later.

Vertical combat…

Because it’s fun to use and not that hard to counter…

Yea I’m waiting. But MP looks just fine without it and I am not happy it’s returning.

lets hope its mixed as a jumppack

I’m hoping the height you can go to is significantly lower so you can only really make it to places that you would have to grenade jump to normally… well something like that anyway.

Agreed. Jet pack does nothing but -Yoink- on one of the core concepts of halo, map control.

I highly doubt that going to be the case, sadly.

Armour lock and JP both have the same problem, they last to long. They seemed to have fixed AL with the Hard Light Sheild, so here’s hoping for Jump Pack…

I absolutely hate the fact that 343i are putting the jetpack and active camo back in as armor abilities.

Just scrap these, give us a jump pack and put camo back as pick-ups–the best solution, imo.

I usually pick the Jetpack in Reach because it’s so overpowered compared to the other AA’s which makes it very easy to kill other players.

I was hoping it wasn’t going to return but we’ll need to see how it operates first.

Target practice?

I used to think having the pistol as a sidearm would be a bad thing. Now I’m somewhat reassured.

Hopefully jetpack will be more reliable this time. Besides getting to high places, it was only useful to me as a strafe enhancer (in the campaign where enemy shots are mostly plasma).

Let’s hope it’s changed this time around.

TO create much butthurt among whiners. That is the true meaning of the holy jet pack.
(Also for others to use in the game and have fun with, or to get shot at repeatedly by someone with a sniper)

“Fun” is subjective and “not hard to counter” doesn’t make it good or add anything to gameplay.

Poor, poor decision if it’s in MP, unless it can only be used on maps with one level or something. It totally destroys and nullifies map movement/map control which is a vital component of Halo.

It’s very obvious just from playing 10 minutes of Reach. I use JP all the time because it’s so stupidly good. Who needs a brain when you have a jetpack?

Like I said, fun to use and not hard to counter. It really isn’t that big of a problem. If you (people in general) cant handle the jet pack, then that sucks for you.
