I don’t know how it happened, and this is coming from someone who has spent hours upon hours trying to discover glitches. Can anyone tell me how I did it so I can attempt to recreate it?
To do what, verify the explaination I already gave you? I suppose I neglected to mention one important thing: you need to time the hits right. If you very snappily double-tap the button, the door won’t begin to open. You need to time it so that the second button press is right as the door is about to do its thing; that way the game thinks the enemies shouldn’t spawn, but the door still opens.

Just tried that and it worked, I was just hitting it twice and nothing happened. Thanks for elaborating =D
Lol now I can add 1 more glitch to my collection.
You somehow managed to slip by the trip point that starts the next sequence of campaign play, this can be done on many maps and can be used to advance through the game quickly when needed. but is often difficult to do.
