I just bought a 12 month xbox live Gold today and I’m supposed to be happy.
But I am nowhere near happy right now.
First, I spent a lot of minutes waiting in the lobby of Spartan Ops and it did not even join me in a game. But that’s fine. Now really upset yet. So I went out to play War Games…
After waiting for minutes in Team Regicide, I finally am connected to a Game.
Now here comes to problem. My game is being glitchy. I keep walking the same ground OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I can’t even look at the same spot for more than 3 seconds. I put down my controller and just watch the screen and the view keeps changing, the wall now, the ground the next, then wall again, and kept going and I’m not even moving anymore. I can’t aim. I can’t severe an enemy.
I want to quit the game soooooo bad but I don’t want to be banned for quitting. (or I don’t want the quit count to increase)
It is so annoying. I have to sit and wait, and just watch myself die over and over because I can’t do anything anyway. Does anyone feel me? I feel so frustrated.
Is this because of my internet? My internet worked fine during my 14 day xbox live gold trial. So why is this happening now?
TL;DR:
I feel like I’m being cheated on by a player or modder or whatever you call them.
I want to ask if there’s a way to submit the game video for you to decide upon.
Something like this happened to me, but instead of lag, it just showed the roster screen for 5 minutes, when it came back, I was dead…?
That does not sounds like glitchs sound more like a lot of lag or slow internet call it w/e you whant to call it
Go to this website. http://www.speedtest.net/
It will test how fast your connection is. Give us the results to see if your connection is the issue.

I just rewatched the match on Theatre and I think it could just be me lagging.
I’m the only one who seems to be “teleporting” my team mates we’re battling just fine. But I’ll do that Speedtest thing first.

PING: 15ms
Download Speed: 5.65Mbps
Upload Speed: 0.47Mbps
Is that a bad result? It sounds like a bad result. :c
-Yoink- it’s my connection isn’t it? It’s my connection all along… XD Is it?
Dont worry its not just you, ive had so many things happen to me that just make me facepalm. Shooting a guy point blank with a shotgun to end up dying myslef and he survives. Black screens for mins at a time taking forever to find games, it is horrible.
Here is my connection.
Sounds like lag to me.
-
Make sure you have high speed internet
-
Go with a wired connection, rather than wireless if possible.
-
Go to the router setting to ensure that you have a direct connection to the Internet.
I don’t mean to patronize or underestimate you intelligence, if you already know these things
Good luck

I’d hate to be the dog that tells ya but that is somewhat slow. Now you may not have a lot of problems with people in your country but with anywhere else you are in trouble.
Your upload of 0.47 is going to make it very difficult to play. You simply can’t update the host on whats happening etc. The 5.65 down isn’t a concern because it’s enough to play modern games online.
If you also add to this someone else on your network you are screwed.
The only things I can think of is:
-
Kick everyone else off your network if possible.
-
Call up your ISP and see if it can go any faster. They’ll most likely make you troubleshoot your gear etc.
-
Play in the afternoon or night when you know your country men should be online.
-
Change ISP.

I took another test and it’s alot different now. Still very poor though. Sigh…
My Connection Speed.

It’s fine. No offence taken.

Well then I’m screwed. I can’t kick my parents and relatives off our network. lol

There’s your problem.
You bandwidth which is that 5.6 is like a pipe.
If five people try to fit in there is a lot less space for everyone then if one person did. The more people on your internet, the less you have to work with.
Since you already have a low amount you are in trouble I’m afraid.

I tried it again and look what I got.
My Speed Test.
But I guess that still sucks if compared to global speeds.
Anyway, thanks for everyone’s input! Much appreciated!

You’re rubber-banding.
Your console sends your joystick press (for movement) to the “host” of the game, and assumes that the data was received fine. Acting on that assumption, your console shows you moving.
Unfortunately, the assumption was wrong due to severe lag: the joystick press was not received, so you didn’t actually move. So the host sends a copy of the game state (a list of everything that is happening) to your console. Your console uses this information to correct its wrong assumption, teleporting you to where you should be… which is a few feet behind you.
This happens over and over again, causing you to “snap” backward like a rubber band that has been stretched too far.
You will need to improve your connection quality to fix this issue. It’s not a bug in the game.
EDIT: Whoops, looks like this was already answered.
Ping: ~30
Download: ~15mbps
Upload ~1.5mbps
That’s with at least three of my roommates using the network right now. Is that at least decent?
I never really could get a firm grasp of how this works. The only crap part of that site is that it wouldn’t select a diff server for me, kept giving me the same one :\
Looks like your company is a bit unstable downstream wise. Must be a lot of people with that company as it is constantly going to extremes. Here’s what I can say.
Because of that instability, you are having problems. Having downstream 11 mbit and then 0.5 is going to kill you in any game period.
The fact that you have a number of people online will also impact as they are all fighting for bandwidth much like you are.
Now there is a shifty way on getting you connection to have a higher priority. If you go into your router settings achieved generally by typing 192.168. 0 or 1 into your browser, you should get a log in page and should you know those details you can set your Xbox to have the highest priority traffic wise over anyone else.
The problem of you connection having such rapidly random downstream rates is a concern and will always give you issues. You ISP will need to be contacted for that to find out why you have such drops and rises.
EDIT: I just noticed as well your ping of 57 will cause some issues on top of the current ones being experienced. You are mostly likely a fair ways from your exchange and will need to talk to your ISP about improving speeds. The fact that you may live a ways from the exchange is always an issue and simply can’t be fixed unless you get closer.

That is completely fine. I had many years ago 5 mbit down and 1mbit up and never ever experience lag with anyone. Now with fiber optic we achieve speeds of 5-10 times that but you should have no issues.
I could suggest as always doing the shifty and giving yourself a higher priority in your router settings but this also depends on how IT smarts your room mates have on whether they’ll ever figure what you’ve done out.
EDIT: Your ping is somewhat higher then normal but it still shouldn’t affect gameplay much.
I feel weird now. There are currently three other people actively on my network and I’m still getting this result: Speedtest Result
My internet costs me less than $50.00/month. Am I fortunate or something?
What is happening is that your internet connection is too poor quality to support Halo 4 on Xbox Live.
I suggest talking to your internet service provider about an upgrade. Try some other games, I bet you’ll have pretty much the same very laggy result.

> My internet costs me less than $50.00/month. Am I fortunate or something?
I have near perfect 30 m/bit down and 5 m/bit up and only pay around $25. Secrets are secrets so I ain’t handing out my ISP either LOL.
Your speeds are fine and you really shouldn’t experience issues ever unless some dodgy host takes over after a migration. It really depends where you live and what company you are with.
For example. If you live a in a major city and within 2K/M’s of your exchange, I can guarantee you, godly speeds. If you are on the outer fringe of a suburb 20 K/M’s away, you’ll have much lower speeds dependent on the ISP and their bandwidth allocation and purchases. Also a major factor always is your distance from your exchange. This cannot be stressed enough. When purchasing a house, make sure you’re close to an exchange LOL.
