so after the nuke goes off i thought cortana had used the composer on chief to save him hence how she touched him kind of like a tron situation so the cutscene of them talking could have lasted fractions of a second in realtime (the way i prefer to think of it)
but from what ive seen on here she used the hardlight to protect the chief from the blast? i have no idea what is right so would anyone clear this up and help me understand?
I am not really sure either. I am curious what people’s opinions are on this.

From what I understand, Cortana did use the hardlight bridge to make a protective barrier around Chief.
The hardlight shield, which seems to be of a similar substance, can deflect rockets, tank blasts, etc. It seems to be nearly impenetrable. Cortana quickly manipulated it around chief, saving him. It also forshadows of her ability to manipulate the hardlight bridge, minutes before, when she uses it to grab the Didact’s arms and legs.

yeah i saw she could manipulate it which is pretty awesome!, but wouldnt the emp form the nuke damage it since it is energy?
She is still alive. Manipulating the shield makes sense

it never showed cortana dead but master chief magically floats to safty. for that to happen cortana would of had to help him after the blast. cortana is M.I.A. heck mabe the Didact is alive to.

cortanas only data so she could have saved herself on some sort of device or atleast remnants of her
Well, obviously the Didact’s still alive as well, but I think that Cortana is lost in space (what’s left of her anyway). Maybe a new Cortana model will be made from Halsey’s brain again?

cortana was made from a clone of halsey and when ai’s are made it kills the brain so they arent supposed to do it from live subjects, cortana was illegally created and with halsey in the position shes in i doubt she could do it again 
One thing confuses me.
Master Chief was holding the nuke.
If Cortana formed a shield around Chief, wouldn’t the bomb have gone off inside the shield?

she could have forced the shield between them so the nuke got pushed out of his hand or if you want the ‘thinking to much into things’ you never actually touch things because atoms repel so their would have been a tiny gap between his hand and the nuke for the shield to form (i spend to much time reading

I want to know why he detonated it by PUNCHING it.

but cortana is only digital, if she were gone it would have said destruction of cortana?
plus the good part about her disappearance is that the chief will want to make someone pay since he had already ‘killed’ the diadact before he found out the fate of his friend

It isn’t.
She created an undestroyable hardlight shield around the mastachief but had to use all of her remaning energy thence sacraficing her to save him.
P.S. She’s alive.

What confuses me is from what or where is this hardlight shield coming from since a nuke just went off where she was.
The ending is left too vague for no reason at all other than to have that silly scene.
