Last time I checked there are two different versions of the locus Helmet, one that is pre-order exclusive and one that comes with the game. If you saw the video of all the Helmets at PAX, they showed a variant of the locus helmet with a skin that was different from the one shown as the pre-order exclusive.
Look for the locus helmet in the picture. It is the NON pre-order exclusive variant:

See the skins are different. The light-blue locus helmet (shown in the image) does NOT have the X shaped skin detail, whereas the red locus helmet (in image 2) does.
