Why they can’t unlock “Bungies” Chest piece or aka “Flaming” chest piece? I remember reading somewhere that Bungie didn’t have time to unlock and 343 would have to do so if we ever wanted it. I could be wrong though.
I don’t really remember hearing that anywhere, but 343i can’t really do it anymore anyways. Same with Recon, they have gotten newer and better updated servers than what Bungie had left them with when they left. This new technology doesn’t have the same features as the older technology for unlocking, or even permitting people to use some of the permutations exclusively to them unlocking it for you. I do also remember hearing that the servers would run very slowly if everyone had the Bungie chest piece on, it being overloaded from too much fire everywhere. This didn’t happen on Bungie Day back in 2009 when they had given everyone the armor because they had some sort of custom code running through matchmaking that day, which brings us back to the different technology used today I mentioned earlier. But hey, I could be completely wrong about that. I just know that they aren’t unlocking Recon anymore because of this reason. I would assume the Bungie chest piece would fall into the same category.

Because 343 were NEVER given those to give away. Those are Bungie’s and Bungie’s only.
Plus the flame effects in Halo 3 caused quite some lag if there were too many on the map, hence why there’s only 1 flame thrower and no firebombs in matchmaking now.
