Can someone explain to me why the Elites broke the truce?

Hey guys, I’ve kinda been MIA for Halo 4 news and when I decided to check out some articles, I’ve found that the Elites broke the truce with the humans. Can someone tell me why?

Sorry for the stupid question, I just haven’t been active enough with Halo lately.

At the moment, we don’t know if those are a rogue group of Covenant or what. To me, their armor seems to say so because it’s nothing like what the Elites or grunts had been using but, only time will tell if the Covenant/Human truce has actually been broken.

Read Halo Glasslands. That should offer a little more insight on what we know so far. or just read the wiki page. either work.

The truth is, neither humans or elites broke any truces in Glasslands (officially, that is). there where unknown terrorist attacks in the ending, but as of now, nobody knows where that came from or where it leads (Except K. Traviss and 343i).

MC does fight elites in the beginning of H4. This due to the fact that they boarded his ship (read:hunk of space-trash) and attacked him. however, this does not mean that they represent the Elites as a whole, seing as in Glasslands, factions where shattered and new alliances where made.

Call them “heretics”, for now.

“The return” also somewhat pointed to a problem between the human/elite alliance.
