Can someone just put every rules about dominion, I’m not sure to understand everything.
Why are we sometimes locked in a base? what is the point? why 343i did this?
UBDATED: This is the answer I wanted to read , thanks to ‘‘A Critical H1T’’ :
There are 3 bases in which you need to capture and protect. That is your primary goal in Dominon.
Of course it the roots of this particularly tree are deeper than they appear. In order to capture a base, you must go through a capture phase before you can do so. During this lock down phase, you cannot leave the base and most hold your position. Captured bases can be fortified with turrets, and you can spawn vehicles wherever you an outline of one (it’s usually in orange).
These turrets can protect your base from enemy players but can be easily destroyed through coordinated effort. Turrets that are destroyed can be fixed.
Once you’ve captured all the bases, the opposing team will go into last stand mode and gain over shields. The catch is that you and your entire team now know where these players are via HUD elements (they have red target waypoints over their heads). Once you’ve killed the opposing team in Last Stand, you win the match.
So there are 3 bases, once you capture a base you can set up fortifications like turrets and shields that will build to protect the captured base, you can also build vehicles at captured bases, if you capture all 3 bases the enemy team will go into last stand, they will get overshields but also be on their last lives, once they capture a base everything goes back to normal and gameplay continues, but if they are all killed while in Last stand mode without capturing a base the game will end and the other team will win.
3-5 neutral bases around the map
-to capture a base, go inside one and hold X near a terminal
-once your base is captured, you can place AI controlled Turrets to defend
-you can also spawn vehicles on special Pads
once in a while, a resupply drop will drop of some power weapons at one or two of your team’s bases
you can capture an enemy base by finding your way into their’s and holding X on a terminal, and a count down will begin, after the time is up, the base is yours
What Cosmic said plus:
In the meantime there is a pool of lives that each side draws from and when it reaches 0, then there are no more respawns for that team and a loss is had once everyone on the 0-ticket team is exterminated.
You and your team are fighting the opposing team for the control of a certain amount of bases (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc.). Each base needs to undergo a “capture sequence”, where a player needs to infiltrate a base and do this on a console, and the sequence will take some time. Once the base is under red or blue control, it will deploy shields and turrets for defense against the opposing team (red base attacks blue players). It will receive weapon and vehicle drops that only the controlling team has access to.
Each base can be attacked and infiltrated by any opposing team member (the control isn’t temporary). If, say, a blue attacks and re-takes a red base, then he will be trapped inside the base while it is switching from red to blue control. Once the base is under blue’s control, any players that were trapped inside can now enter and leave as they please. The team with control of every base on the map will then have to kill any remaining opposing players, who receive overshields. Once one team completely dominates (hence the name “dominion”) another team, killing all of their players, and capturing all of the bases, that team wins.
