Can someone explain this..?

When buying the LE Halo 4, you get “early access” to specializations, yet 343i says you still have to work for them. So, what’s the “early access” part? You DON’T have to hit the level cap?

hopefully

I don’t know, but I didn’t preorder the LE just for kicks and giggles!

You get some stuff free/earlier then you would have/with less effort but still got to work to unlock the rest, at least that’s how it’s done in other games.
Early access = get some level 5-10 stuff at level 1 and feel nicely OP for a week until everyone else gets it ^^

the free specializations are just extra armor and weapon skins, we will get them early we probably have to enter a code to get them.

Hearing that the specializations kind of work like an rpg skill tree, I figured with LE you were reciving 6 different specializations that standard edition users would’nt have, or perhaps unlock much later than their first re enlistment

The way I’m looking at it is, there’s gonna be 15+ specializations (speculation of my part) because the LE gets early access to 6 of them. When you type in the little redeem code that will be in the case, it will allow you to unlock those 6 at specific levels versus having to level up completely like people who buy the SE will have to.

These aren’t the skins and aesthetic things, these actually affect your character. So, people with the LE and potentially the console will have an upperhand early on in the life cycle in Halo 4.

Given that these specializations are used in specific gametypes, not all of them.

The early access to whatever the 6 specializations may or may not be is cool, but I’m more excited about 3 free future map packs.

You have the 6 specializations unlocked after you reach max level for the LE. Standard edition you will probably only unlock a couple specializations after each max level.

IE. LE:
max level -> you can now specialize in Sniper, CQC, Driver, Assistant, Marksman, Alien Tech (all examples, nothing confirmed).

Standard:
max level → you can now specialize in Driver, Marksman, obtain max level again and unlock Sniper, and Assistant… so on an so forth.
