Can someone explain this.

Played a solo game of Team Slayer. My random teammates and I got destroyed by the other team. I checked the post game scores and [this is what came up](https://account.xbox.com/en-us/screenshot/2aaed200-26f5-46cd-9e57-2b5020ca90d8?gamertag=Gaven iz a BK&scid=1370999b-fca2-4c53-8ec5-73493bcb67e5).

My question is why? I’m a platinum player, so why am I paired with players outside of my division. I was on a win streak before, so maybe that had an effect on why I was placed in that game. I’ve also heard rumors that player population is low in some divisions, so “division crossing” occurs. If anyone knows anything about how H5G pairs players in arena, I’d be really interested.

Apart from your division, Halo 5 also takes into consideration how well you actually perform during matches. So if you are a Platinum who plays pretty well you might get paired with some Diamonds next time OR if you keep losing (like lil ole me) you might find yourself facing more Golds and even Silvers.

With that said, the matchmaking system DOES need some pretty major tweaks. As for player population: if there are problems in any game modes, Slayer should not be one of them. So it can’t be that.

If you want to rank up higher then you have to prove that you can take on opponents that are ranked higher than yourself and beat them. I’m not saying the system they have set in place is perfect but the higher in rank you go the more difficult it is to find proper matches to play against. The system has to widen the search parameters or high ranked players would never find a match.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the displayed ranking and the rating used to create matches are two different rankings that move independently of each other. No proof of this, just the way it has worked in the recent past and the way it makes most sense.

All these answers make sense, thank you all.
