Like… why is this setlist so popular? Why has it still persisted since Halo 2? It feels like a knockoff Slayer mode meant for people who don’t understand gunplay in Halo multiplayer and would rather have something like CoD, where the gunplay gets so easy, it feels like it’s holding your hand.
Please, if you’re a fan of SWAT, explain why SWAT is such a big deal. Because I seriously just don’t understand it. At all.
I think that the appeal for me is that its similar to the Halo 1 gameplay in a way. Pistol was threeshot headshot so i grew up playing halo shooting for the headshot and disregarding just about everything else. I’m not saying that this is the smartest way to play… its just how I roll

The action in SWAT is usually instantaneous and decisive. It’s great to be able to play a match of something that requires a different playstyle but doesn’t require you to pop in a completely different game, you know what I mean?

Yeah!!
Because muh fast paced modurn gameplay sprint and loadouts.
On a more serious note instagib modes date all the way back to the first arena shooters, and it’s still more challenging than CoD because people can actually move and be difficult to hit, whereas in CoD everyone is grounded and sluggish.
It’s not really better than vanilla Halo but it’s different, and sometimes people just want a little variety. Never personally found it all that appealing.

Instant gratification, one-shot kills, mindless fast gameplay.
For whatever reason people love it.
Because it allows you to play a different sort of game inside the game that you love.
While Halo 5’s gamplay is more fast paced than previous games, Swat give you the fastest pace possible, one shot kills, instant win or loose decided by the quicker marksman.
So what if people think its like COD, its still Halo and its great!
SWAT is fun , and the best is with magnum

When I play with friends which never play Halo (or another shooter) they want to play SWAT because its to hard for them to kill players.
I use it as a warmup.

Fastest way to get req points outside of warzone. I have limited time, and warzone takes too long.
It’s senseless fun, not sure why it’s ranked though. I use it to practice my head shot game. Back in the day Halo was a range game, and BRs were the tool of destruction.
its better for significantly better players to rank up faster and not get stuck in a league they dont belong in.
Also it is good for practicing headshots
