I’m looking for an explanation of how matchmaking works. I’m getting paired with opponents who are far and above my skill level and I’m getting destroyed because of it. Why am I not being matched with players of my same rank?
Here’s my day. The rankings listed are my opponents. I was anywhere from Plat IV to Plat VI as the day went on:
> Game 1: Diamond I (x3), Diamond 2 (We won, I was 4th)
> Game 2: Plat V (x2), Diamond 1, Diamond 3 (We won, I was 4th)
> Game 3: Plat VI, Diamond 2, Diamond 4 (x2) (We lost, I was 2nd)
> Game 4: Plat IV, Plat V, Diamond 1, Onyx 1784 (We won, I was 4th)
> Game 5: Plat VI, Diamond 1, Diamond 2, Diamond 4 (We won, I was 4th)
> Game 6: Unranked, Diamond 4, Onyx 1627, Onyx 1753 (We lost, I was 4th, the unranked led the other team)
> Game 7: Diamond 3, Diamond 4, Diamond 5, Onyx 1584 (We lost, I was 4th)
My best CSR in Slayer was Diamond 1. Why, as a Plat VI-VI, with a maximum CSR of Diamond 1, am I playing against teams of Diamond 3 - Onyx. Take Game 6 for example. I had no business being in that game. I got my face wrecked. Why am I being matched with these players? I genuinely don’t understand.
The same thing happened to me in the SWAT playlist during the January season. I was mid Plat playing with Diamond/Onyx. I had to stop playing… it’s not fun.
I just want to understand why.
