From what i’ve heard i think it’s supposed to be short, sort of like campaign missions that you can unlock and complete with friends each week. If so, are these like cod’s spec ops missions? Where would 343 find the time to make these missions every week?
We don’t know much about them.
5 mini-missions and a new cutscene per week, for a few months. XBGold required.
That’s pretty much it.
We’ll see exactly how it plays on june 4th, a couple of hours after the Microsoft press conference via Gametrailers.
There first season will be free. Yes, it is a story campaign of missions. I think you play as your own Spartan. A new set of missions will come out each week.
They aren’t like Call of Duty’s Spec Ops missions, since they all follow a same story, Think of it as a co-op campaign that gets released bit by bit during each week. In the end, Spartan Ops will be around the same length as the single player story, or so it’s been said.

These Spartan Ops missions follow the story of Majestic Squad and the highly advanced warship the UNSC Infinity. It is a story driven experience (unlike Spec Ops) that can be played up to four players online or you can go it alone. Each week will have new objectives and missions that continue the story for weeks, if not months on end. You can replay these missions as much as you like for Spartan Points to help unlock new Specializations, weapons, skins, AAs etc and can use whatever you earned in Spartan OPs can be used in MP Matchmaking as well.
The difficulty can also be adjusted but no news on any in game modifiers like skulls.
Think of it second Campaign being shipped with the game along with Master Chiefs story. The two stories are reported to cross each other at some point in the game. Though after the first season, Frank O Connor admitted that they would be interested in releasing more seasons for Spartan OPs (as purchasable DLC) if this Spartan OPs idea becomes popular.
They are not like COD’s spec ops because they are related to the story of H4, they are missons that you and your freinds or yourself must do, like “Hey, spartan! Pick up some milk!” while it will be a little more dramatic than that, and also they are all made before the game is released, they are just released to the public weekly, they don’t make them everyweek
TL;DR
They relate to the story, are released weekly, and can be solo or co-op

If there is four of them, wouldn’t they be Majestic Fireteam, or just Majestic Team? Pretty sure that a squad is a lot mroe than four soldiers.

Looks fake.
I can tell by the fake logo.
This sounds awsome guys (or girls), thanks for the quick replies. It would be cool if we busted into the sheild world and saved master chief (not that he needs saving) in one of the spartan ops. I can’t wait for halo 4, i hope it’s so good that i crap my pants like i did in halo 3.

I don’t think you made a typo. The Spartan Ops article on Halopedian clearly says “Majestic Squad”.
looks at title clears throat “Yes”.

I’m not a fan of the title “Majestic”, but I am looking forward to playing Spartan Ops with all of yall!!!
To clarify my last post, i had just bought halo 3 on the release day and was playing on the second mission. I had to go number 2 but i didn’t want to leave because the game was so good, next thing you know i pooted and splat. lol

Yeah, several sources from google say Squad too…-.-
Squad-A small organized group of military personnel.
4 man teams is pretty small, so it fits the definition of Squad. Which of course is very similar to the word team.

Considering the UNSC takes many inspirations from the US Military, I assumed they would use similar military units. You know, a “fireteam” is a 4-man unit, while a squad is 8-13 people.
Kinda weird that Majestic Squad is smaller than Noble Team.

Could chalk it up that 343 just pulled words out the dictionary, found the ones that were the coolest and gave birth to Majestic Squad.
Joking aside…
Though it’s probably not the only example in the Halo verse, if you put Spartan Blue team together (John, Kelly, Fred, and Linda) that’s considered a team and that’s only 4 Spartans as well.
