Can social playlists turn off SBMM a.k.a. ranked in non-ranked?

Game is a chore to play these days, every game mode feels like a sweatfest, and I never experienced this when playing the old school halo games/MCC, what gives? People don’t want to come home from work just to well… work, because the games are always ranked regardless of what you queue up for. This stuff killed CoD (not talking about snorezone) and every other game it goes near, why doesn’t anyone learn? I don’t want to sweat in a fiesta game. I don’t want to sweat in a random 4v4 in quickplay, please get rid of this crap. People talk about the shop and other crap that is fairly irrelevant when it comes to actual gameplay, but SBMM is the real killer. This stuff makes people leave and is very “un-halo”.

I agree! I get tired of getting online after work just to end up frustrated because of all the sweaty gamers. I’m trying to unwind, and that’s hard to do with all the tryhards

The biggest problem with sbmm in social playlists is it creates an incredibly bad and frustrating experience for a group of friends who want to play together but here is a high skill outlier in the group. Cannot tell you how many of our friends get frustrated and quit games because someone in our group is onyx and makes every quickplay game turn into ranked and they don’t want to just sit there and get farmed by the higher skilled opponents sbmm matches us with. Without sbmm you’ll get a random mix of people. Some might be good, some might be really bad. It will be up and down. That’s how quickplay should be.

I concur that in social playlists SBMM should be turned off or severely toned down. Ranked exists, let SBMM be there.
